Manhattan chapter 5 里面说:In theory, every pronoun in a well-written sentence should clearly refer to one antecedent. In particular,every it and its in one sentence must refer to the same singular antecedent. Likewise, every they, them,and their must refer to the same plural antecedent. Otherwise, unacceptable confusion reigns.
例句如下:Researchers claim to have developed new "nano-papers" incorporating tiny cellulose fibers, which THEY allege give THEM the strength of cast iron.
这里they和them在逻辑上所要指代的对象时不一致的所以Manhattan里说这是错误的句子。也就是说在一个句子里面 they them their所要所要指代的对象是一致的。
但是看OG13里面的一道题目:

不说这道题的答案,对于and后面的这个they大家很有争议但是根据前面的这个they和Manhattan里说的我认为就没有争议了,我的理解是哪里有错误,求解答~
