这道题我也不懂，同样求解。OG解释为什么说they xxx后面省略了sell，OG是怎么看出来的呢

我一直认为这题的研究意义不大，反而会干扰对语法规则的理解，建议绕开。

感觉是个省略句。首先判断时态，前句1. have cut，只能说明发生在过去。 2. be priced 这句只能是发生在和1同时或者之后。应该是过去，或者现在。3.they sell这句 只能是和2同时或者之后。
所以，had错误，因为过去的过去，比1还早，不符合逻辑。
至于they do是个省略句。语法我确实还没有找到，但是and they sell这个顺接关系，用语义理解似乎更加好理解点。
