个人觉得从语义上分析是博物馆鼓励visitors touch的这个行为导致了activate bla bla,不是visitors执行的activate的动作,所以一开始就放弃了D选项，选了B。有人解释说thereby放在中间就可以，不明白。。。。？？？
还有一种语法上的解释是activation没有可以同位语的结构，如果同位也只能是紧挨前面名词exhibit修饰（逻辑上显然不对）
查阅了版主NN们的资料和prep笔记，有个说法是抽象名词a finding/phenomenon之类的也可以指代前面整个句意，但是之后得紧跟that同位语从句，那这里的activation就不能指代前面的整个句意麽？？？？
求NN指教啊，发了几个帖子都没人回复，o(>﹏<)o不要啊啊。。。。

B逗号后面都是nonessential，但这句子中后面activated是很重要的信息，应该用and

in turn用得不对吧，你如何解释后面这个同位语从句？

楼主，in turn的意思你没有理解。in turn 是类似 one by one，也就是说是一种微弱的先后秩序的感觉，那么带回句子，读者可以理解为courage和activation之间，但这样明显不对。
而作者是要把touch和activate捆绑在一起，告诉读者the Virtual Leonardo Project多么不同。

in turn有“转而，反过来”的意思，用in turn可以表示先后顺序，但我理解的是博物馆鼓励visitors touch的行为 in turn activate，语义上其实和thereby差不多，不太能理解你说的

the Virtual Leonardo Project鼓励visitors触摸每个展览，in turn 是一种对每个展板动画效果的激活。
1. in turn如何解释？‘转而'，'依次'显然不合逻辑
2. 名词同位语修饰the nearest noun, activation修饰exhibit显然不对。
你说的修饰前面整个句子的是独立短语，和同位语不是一回事。

谢谢亲的回复，我觉得你说的对，从语法角度来讲那个应该是独立短语，不是同位语，Manhattan上面也有独立短语的解释。我是看了版主Elroy的OG全解（红字部分）
“同位语修饰前方紧邻名词，一般不会出现跳跃结构【a phenomenon这样抽象名词的同位语指代整句句意除外】”而产生的疑问
Project鼓励visitors触摸每个展览，转而激活展板效果=== 感觉语义挺顺当的啊，或许是我理解错了。。。

楼主，我也是新手，来讨论一下，我一般做题都用排除法的，一开始就排除A和E，which不能用来指代前面一句话。
c也存在明显的指代错误也排除了，所以只剩下BD，这里我和楼主考虑方向有点不一样了，我还没想到同位语的指代问题，只是考虑了动词和名词的使用，这里使用动词会优于名词（我记得在哪里看过词性的选择~)，而且如果使用了名词，后面这句话句子结构是不完整的。所以我选了D
