我不理解C选项。这里OG给的解释是因为touch是动词所以it不能指代。指代Project和exhibit也可以都排除。那为什么不能指代to touch each exhibit这个呢？就想it is adj. to do.. 这里的it不是也可以指代to do么？希望好心人帮忙答一下…

it is adj. to do...中的it是作为placeholder，并不指代任何东西。
比如用that 从句开头会很怪，这时候就轮到这种句型上场啦~~~

it一般不指代不错名词性成分的不定式
encourage to do 中to do就不是名词性质的

个人理解：首先这里的it即使要指代也不是指代to touch,而是指代encourage to touch~因为will acitivate的原因是整个动作encourage to touch,而不仅仅是to touch。而it作为代词，不可能指代encourage to touch,所以只能指代an online version of the museum，但这样就隔断了encourage和activate的因果联系~所以不对~

PS：it只有在做形式主语、形式宾语的时候才能指代to do结构和that从句~
