Is the most important characteristic of a good political or business leader is the ability to take responsibility for mistakes?

If you have a choice to choose for a country where the political or
businees leader all have the ability to take responsibiity for their mistakes, and then in antohr one the government officials and businessman all lead their citizens develop quickly but with some of mistakes remainning to be solved, which one will you choose? Or do you think the most imporant charcateristic of a good politican or a business leader is to take responsibility for their mistakes? From my point of view, and also based what I learnt(这个地方我觉得用完成时更能表达意思) from others around me, I believe the most important characterstic of a good political or business leader is not restricted to take responsibility. Other aspencts of them such as lead the country or the company achieve success and make more profits are also important for these persons.

In the first place, all of us live in a big society now, which is composed of people from all walks of life. Different people have different opinions about what is the most important for their
politicals or business leaders. For example, students may want politicals to provide more financial support to improve the facilities in their school, teachers want to increase their salary. Also, employees in one compnay may want to have more vacations that they can have a trip to the sea beaches or natural parks with their family. People do not pay much attention to whether the politicals or business leader take responsibility or not, because it is their duty to do their work and be aware of their mistakes.

In addition, we can take a close look at other factors to judge a good political or business leader. All of us should consider president Roosevelt as a good
political, but he also made a mistakes for that Japan would not start world two in 1941. Then he declared war against Japan but put all the respinsibility to Japan but not to the information system of America at that time. (这句话有点不同,而且用了两个but显得很奇怪)If he did so, there would be less people died in Pearl Harbor under the attack of Japan army. On the other hand, president Roosevelt's new deal helped Americans stepped out of the great depression and led American people toward victory in world war two. He is one of the great president+s in the history of American. In this case, other apects of a good political outweigh to take responsibility. It is not so difficult to find similar examples about a business leader.

Of
courst, it is obvious to acknowledge that a good political or business leader should be repsonsible for the mistakes they made. No one can deny the important role responsibiity plays in a country or a company. But when you take other spects of a good political or business leader into consideration, such as what I have discussed in paragraph three, you may doubt: Is responsibility the most important? Isn't this attitude too narrow? Considering what I discussed in the previous paragraphs, I do not agree with the point that taking responsibility for mistakes is the most important characterstic for a good political or business leader. Other factors such as leading the country to achieve more progress and gainning more profits for company are more important for them.

The best way to improve the quality of education is to increase teachers' salaries

In order to improve the quality of education, some people believe that the best method is to increase teacher's salaries, while others pay more attention to buy advanced facilities such as new textbooks, or building new research centers and so forth. The fact is that if more money are spent on teacher's salaries, there will be less money to buy teaching facilities. Also, if teachers all have high salaries than others do, they may become more focus on how to relax and less on their teaching quality. Therefore, I think the strategy to increase salaries for teachers is not  effective to improve the quality of education.

In the first place, increasing teacher's salaries means that less money will be spended on facilities. The outcome of a school depends on its incomes, which comes for the tuitions and government's financial support, private donations. So that the incomes of any schools are limited to some extent. The increase of teachers' salaries will decrease the money spent on others things such as buying facilities. When I was in middle school, the principal decided to build a new library for students. On the other hand, other teachers in the school wanted to use these money as their salary since they thought the school had a small library that could meet students' needs. These teachers' voices were so strong that the principal changed his ideas. At last, the contruction of a new library was postponed. The result was that students did not have so many books or other materials in the old small library, but no one paid attention to this problems.

Additionally, high salaries will cause teachers distracted so that their teaching quality will decrease to some extent. What will you do if you have so much money in hand? Most of people would like to buy a new house, travel to other parts of the world with their family. All of these are fine for all of us. But when I was a poor student in primary school, I heard my teachers talked about their traveling to the United States-the clean air, the high mountains, also white people who speak English-and could not concentrate on my study any more.

On the contrary, spending money on buying teaching is beneficial for both students and teachers. A high-tech library offers students books, CDs, computers and so forth, which can help students study effciently and effectively. At the same time, teachers can use these facilities to improve their teaching abilites. In contrast, a school have so many high salary teachers, but with a small and outdated library can not attract excellent students. Excellent teachers are also unwilling to these schools because there are not advanced facilities to do their researches in these schools. Then the teaching quality can not be ensured, not to say improved.

Of course, teachers are considered as master educators of human beings, their quality of life should be ensured by salaries. It is no doubt that teachers should have a reasonable salary. However, the method of offering teachers high salaries to improve the quaity of education is not reasonable.

Some problems relate to old cultural artifacts and archaeolotists in Britain are discussed in the reading text. On the contrary, the professor of the lecture states that new rules and guide line have been issued to change all of the three areas mentioned in the reading text.

First, the new guide line says that construction companies must hire scientists to examine whether the sites are of scientific interest or value before the contruction. If the sites indeed attrect archaeologists' attention, archaeologists, companies and government officials should work together to make a plan about how to perserve the site. The solution may be build around the site or unearth the site properly. So, the first problem in the reading text can be solved in this way.

Second, the professor points out that according to the new guide line, sciectists are paid by the construcion companies. All of the works such as examination, plan and so forth are all paid by these companies. This new financial support can provide enough fund for archaeologists to do a great range of researches than before.

Third, the professor explains that all of the stages-examine the sites, make plans to preserve the site-need archaeologists' participation. Also, new jobs are offerd to archaeologists for collecting data, writing articles and so on. Therefore, new paid jods are provided to archaeologists; the number of these jobs are the highest than ever before.

Some problems relate to old cultural artifacts and archaeolotists in Britain are discussed in the reading text. On the contrary, the professor of the lecture states that new rules and guide line[guidelines] have been issued to change all of the three areas mentioned in the reading text.

First, the new guide line says that construction companies must hire scientists[这个好像没说额] to examine whether the sites are of scientific interest or value before the contruction.

All of the works such as examination, plan[plan不是他们工作,他们要做的是在plan下的工作] and so forth are all paid by these companies. This new financial support can provide enough fund for archaeologists to do a great range of researches than before.

Third, the professor explains that all of the stages-examine the sites, make plans to preserve the site-need archaeologists' participation[听力里面没有这个意思噢~]. Also, new jobs are offerd to archaeologists for collecting data, writing articles and so on. Therefore, new paid jods are provided to archaeologists; the number of these jobs are the highest than ever before.[这里最好能提出直接反对reading中的观点的句子,比如说with the increasing paid jobs provided to archaeologists, people can have a career in archaeology]

In order to improve the quality of education, some people believe that the best method is to increase teacher's salaries, while others pay more attention to buy advanced facilities such as new textbooks, or building new research centers and so forth. The fact is that if more money are (is) spent on teacher's salaries, there will be less money to buy teaching facilities. Also, if teachers all have high salaries than others do, they may become more focus on how to relax and less on their teaching quality. Therefore, I think the strategy to increase salaries for teachers is not (as) effective (as) (增加as …as 结构表对比会好点) to improve the quality of education.

In the first place, increasing teacher's salaries means that less money will be spended
spent on facilities. The outcome of a school depends on its incomes(income), which comes for(from) the tuitions and government's financial support, private donations. So that the incomes of any schools are limited to some extent(这里是个断句). The increase of teachers' salaries will decrease the money spent on others things such as buying facilities. When I was in middle school, the principal decided to build a new library for students. On the other hand(这里貌似用while表示对比会好点), other teachers in the school wanted to use these money as their salary since they thought the school had a small library that could meet students' needs(建议改为the school’s small library could meet student’s needs. These teachers' voices were so strong that the principal changed his ideas. At last, the contruction(construction) of a new library was postponed. The result was that students did not have so many books or other materials in the old small library, but no one paid attention to this problem.

Additionally, high salaries will cause teachers distracted
(建议改为teachers will be distracted with the increasing salaries) so that their teaching quality will decrease to some extent. 例子好像是自己不能集中精力学习,建议改为如果老师有更多的spare time, 或者花更多心思在vacation上后,和以前比同学生的交流沟通以及对学生指导的时间减少了)

On the contrary, spending money on buying teaching is beneficial for both students and teachers. A high-tech library offers students books, CDs, computers and so forth, which can help students study effciently
efficiently and effectively. At the same time, teachers can use these facilities to improve their teaching abilities. In contrast, a school (that has)have so many high salary teachers, but with a small and outdated library can not attract excellent students. Excellent teachers are also unwilling to (join) these schools because there are not advanced facilities to do their researches in these schools. Then the teaching quality can not be ensured, not to say improved.

Of course, teachers are considered as master educators of human beings, (and) their quality of life should be ensured by salaries. It is no doubt that teachers should have a reasonable salary.
However, the method of offering teachers high salaries to improve the quaity of education is not reasonable(应该是说不是the best reasonable method.

(楼主是掐时写的吧,貌似少了个总结段。掐时能够写这么多挺不错的了。另外提醒楼主注意连词的用法和断句)

8月19日 Do you agree or dis agree, the way a person dressed is a good indication of his/her personality or charactor

When you are walking along a road and see a man dressed in sport clothes passes by, you may quickly make a conclusion that this man is interested in sports. In similar paraphrases, some people prefer to wear deep dark clothes, while others love to buy light color clothes. According to some scientists, the color individual prefer can reflect his/her personality or charactor to some extent. As a result, it can be concluded that the way a person dressed can really indicate his/her personality to some extent.

In the first place, we can see from our friends, family members, relatives that their clothes are a good indication of their personality. It is not difficult to find that those who are career-oriented and enjoy working often wear formal clothes. On the other hand, people who have an artistic disposition often wear loosely and funky clothes. For example, my father is a worker in a steel factory. He enjoys his work and loves to make some innovations to improve the efficiency of his work. Most of the time he stays at the factory, and wear formal clothes. When you find him on the steet or on a bus, you can easily find out he is a steel work because it is worte on the clothes he wears.

Moreover, it is natural to wear clothes that are suitable to one's environment. If one person often wears football team clothes, it shows that this person loves playing football or at least interested in football games. Take me as an example to illustrate this point. I like playing football in my spare time with my friends. We often wear clothes which are similar to the famous football players when we play together. Doing this makes us feel that we are playing with those famous players in the playground. In fact, in my spare time, I wear my football team clothes too. It makes me feel a great sense of belonging to this game. Also it is a show off of my favorite sports.

Finally, we can simply distingish police officers, soliders, nurses from other people from the clothes they wear in their work place. A polichman is required to wear formal clothes at work. Therefore we can easily know a policeman is coming from a long distance. The clothes he/she wears indicate that he/she is a police officer. As you can see, one main character to distinguish a police officer from others is the clothes she/he dressed.

Of course, personality or character is complex and may change as people grow older or something else happened which affect them on their character or personality in their life. While the fact is that as people' personality or character change, the clothes they wear will change with their personality or character. In this way, the way they dressed indicate their changes in personality or character. Therefore, according to this point and also based what I have discussed above, it is safe to draw the conclusion that the way a person dressed is a good indication of his/her personality or character.

In the reading text, it is said about some factors that may cause the the decline of birds in the United States. However, the professor in the lecture does not think so, and she says that the arguments provided in the reading text are unconvincing.

First, contrary to what the author has said in the reading text that the decline of birds happens to all kinds of birds, the professor argues that certain types of birds increase in number becasue of human activities. Some birds are flying in the streets at the urban areas so often that some residents even complain about this. Also, these birds attract hawks which pray on them. Therefore, the first arguement in the passage is disputed.

Second, the professor points out that the need of new lands is less and less. New crops are created which can produce more products per unit land. As a result, the growing need of agricultural activities will not rely on wild areas but on new crops. This directly contradicts its counterpart that bird habitats will decreased due to the increase demand of human need in the reading text.

Third, the professor explains that the trend of using pesticides will not continue in the future. People are aware of the problems that pesticides do harm to birds now. They develop two ways to deal with this situation. One is to use less toxic pesticides and the other is using crops which have resistance to pests. No pesticides are needed to the new crops so they will not do harm to birds. Consequently, these new methods will not reduce bird population as suggested in the passage.

Therefore, according to this point and also based what I have discussed above, it is safe to draw the conclusion that the way a person dressed is a good indication of his/her personality or character.

整体结构思路情绪,但有个别语法及语言错误。
个人感觉,虽然这种“前进式”的写法也不错,
但感觉主体部分写“2正+1反”的驳论会更有说服力,可以显得两方面都考虑了。
