823 For future career success, is relate well to other people more important than studying hard at school?

In order to have a successful career after graduation, some students believe it is important to relare
(related?) well with classmates, professors and other people whethewhether?) on the campouscampusor in the community around the school. Other sdudentsstudents hold another opinion,(这里缺少句子间的连词) they pay most of their attention to study such as listening carefully to professors in classes, asking questions after classes, and then(, and 后面应该是一个完整的句子了,缺谓语)getting high scores in the test. When I was a freshman in university, I also had the same question-related well with others or studied?(这里的短语是well with others?从没见过这用法感觉是错误,可以有别的简单的说法啊good relationships with others or hard studying Now I worked at a world famous company, and finally find study is more essential for my success in my work.

One of the primary reason
reasons is student's knowledge on major subjects (最好不要省略thatare the foundation of their jobs after their graduation. It is the trend nowadays that the requirement of companies become(requirement company become单复数要一致) more and more strict. Students need to work hard at school so as to meet these requirements. Take one of my friends' experience as an example. He inclined to have a position at China Mobile, but did not scored high enough on College EnglighEnglish Test-Six, which was one requirement of the company. Indeed, all of my classmates and meI considered him as a good man who were ready to help others. He participated in various activities at school and spent most of his time on these things so that he could not concentrate on his study. What a pity he lost this chance!

There is also a more subtle point we must consider, students who work hard have more chances to do researches so that they can communicate wiht
with others. When I was a senior in university, I worked hard on my study and got high scores on all of the courses. My physics professor witnessed my good performances and then he asked whehterwhetherI would like to join his research group which was supported by a famous company. I agreed to take part in the group and made quite a progress one year later. I kept in touch with lots of experts in this field and also knew other excellent engineers. As you can see, working hard also provides more opportunitesopportunities for students such as me.

What's more, good habits can be formed by the process of studying hard, which is beneficial for students' success in the future. It is obvious that if a student study
studies hard, he/she will pay attention to what the professor's main points in the classes, (去掉前面的,)and how the speaker regulates his/her lecture. When these students start working, they can easily organize their schedules,(去掉“,”加上andgrasp the main points of the employers. All of these are helpful to have a successful career.

Of course, my own experience is very special and specific. Therefore, whether it can be used to you(去掉 you)
readers remains to be tested. However, from my point of view, I firmly believe studying hard at school is more important for future career success.

In the reading text talks about benefits of planting genetically modified trees to farmers. On the contrary, the speaker does not agree with these points. She argues that people can easily find some problems with this phenomenon if they look closely to it.

First, contrary to what has been said in the reading text, the professor states that genetically modified trees are more likely to be wiped out under some conditions. She then explains that natural trees are genetically diversified. Therefore some of them can survive when some climate changes or insect infections coming to these natural trees. However, genetically modified trees are more uniform and if some diseases or climate changes which they are not designed to resistant happening, they are likely to die out.

Second, opposed to the author's opinion that genetically modified trees bring economical benefits to farmers who plant them, the professor explains that the hidden cost is even higher compared to plant natural trees. The reason is that companies charge farmers more money for seeds. At the same time farmers need to pay companies every time they plant these modified trees according to the law.

Third, unlike the point in the passage that genetically modified trees can prevent willd
wild trees, the speaker points out the fact is that they will do harm to natural trees. She says that genetically modified trees grow aggressively among natural trees. These trees compete for sunlight, soil, water and other resources with natural trees. In this case, genetically modified trees cause damage to native trees. This directly contradicts its counterpart in the reading text.

8月24日 Movies and television have more negative effects than positive effects on the way young people behave. Do you A/D?

Some believe that watching movies and TV is the reason for young people' unfit behaviors, while others believe that these help children expand their outlook, develop resistences to some unacceptable things, and also make them relaxed. Meanwhile, movies and television are only one of so many factors which can affect young people' behavior. Therefore, the saying that movies and television have more negative effects than positive effects on the way young people behave is unsounded.

Firstly, it is obvious that movies and televison are helpful to broaden young people' horizon. Programs provided on the television are relating to various subjects, such as economy, politic, science, technology, sport, and so forth. These programs are up-to-date, easy to access, and widely available to young people, which helps them learn what they want effectively and conveniently. One program called "natural world" in CCTV provdies the daily actions of various amimals across the world. Its programs includes lions live in Africa, snakes from tropical rain forest of South America and so forth. Therefore, by watching these programs, young peopel can have an overview of the aniamls-how they eat, what they like to eat, why they live in different places in the world just at their home. No one can deny that this helps young people broaden their horizon.

Another benefits is that the criminals are punished in the end in most of the movies or TV programs. Young people who watch these movies receive a sign that if they do the same thing, they will be punished too. Thus, watching these movies helps young people distingish which is beneficial and which is baneful. Next time, when they face the same situations, the information they gained from the movies gives them the wisdom to proferm properly. For example, after watching robbers are sent to prison
by the policeman, other people may have the consideration of the bad result of robbing others. As a result, when they confront with similar question, they will not do the same thing. On the other hand, parents may do not have enough time to expalin all of this to their children.

Finally, people tend to blame their wrong-headed children and attribute the results to be caused by watching unsuitable movies or television programs. They think that children imitate actions of the leading role in the movies or in television programs for fun or to show themselves. But, one thing they just ignore is that other factors are more influencial than movies and TV. Young people spend more time with parents, teachers, and friends than they watch TV or movies. They are more likely to be influenced by these people based on the time they spent with them in their daily life. In addition, another point is that before programs in the television or movies are allowed to be shown to the public, they need to be censored. Programs which are allowed to be screened are considered acceptable to the public by the experts. Thus, it is meaningless to relate young people' mistakes to movies and television and to consider movies and TV are the only factor which influence young people.

Of course, it is ture that violence scenes in movies or TV programs have bad effects on the way young people behave to some extent. On the other hand, these secnes are limited to a certain number. Therefore, to exaggerate their nagetive effects and diminish the positive ones are not precisely according to the fact. Consequently, based on what I have discussed above, the statement that movies and television have more negative effects than positive effects on the way young people behave is incorrect.

The reading text states that ethanol fuel is not an ideal alternative to gasoline for three reasons. On the contrary, the speaker does not agree with those points from the critics's viewpoints in the reading about the drawbacks of the production of ethanol. He argues that the three reasons in the reading text are not convincing at all.

First, the speaker explains that though the burning of ethanol does release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, the process of producing ethalol counteracts the release of corbin dioxide. The reason is that ethanol is made from plants such as corn and so forth, and these plants need carbon dioxide as a part of their nutrient. Thus, growing plants actually absorb carbon dioxide from atmosphere. This would counteract with the release of burning ethanol. Therefore, the first reason in the reading text is disputed.

Second, the professor states that the production of ethanol will not reduce the food supply for animals. Because producers use one part of the corn, which are plants' cell walls, to produce ethanol. And cell walls are not eaten by animals. So, the production of ethanol would not reduce available food resource for animals. As a result, the second reason in the reading text is totally rejected by the speaker.

Third, the professor positively believe that the price of ethanol would drop. He says that producers of ethanol will not need government subsides if they increase the amount of production. He further explains that the price will go down by 40% if the production of ethanol is three times as many as today. Consequently, the third reason in the reading is directly denied by the speaker.

825In order to solve the problems of the present and the future, people should review the past.
What would you do when you face a problem such as making the similar mistake in your homeworkor or find it is difficult to prepare your final exams? Just sitting down and trying to waiting for the answer itself to come into your mind? Or you can review the past to find some similar situations, then see how these questions were solved to find some clues. By doing this, one can not only save time, but also can have a better understanding of the present situations and prepare for events in the future. Therefore, I agree with the above statement for the following reasons.

Firstly, learning from failures of the past helps us avoid making the same mistakes again, at the same time sucessful experiences give us an indication of how to solve similar problems successfully. As an old saying goes: What has been will be again; there is nothing new under the sun. Based on this, by realizing and learning from the past, can both individuals and countries will develop quickly with less setbacks. I would like to cite my own experience in studying as an example to further explain this point. I began to realize that the mistakes I made in the tests will reappear in the next one if I did not remember them and review them regularly when I was in high school. I clearly remembered one mathematical equation that was very diffcult to understand competely and I could not work out similar problems in math tests. However, it became easy for me after I reviewed it every five days a month. Next time I took a math text, I could solve these questions in just a few minutes and gave the right answer.

Another important aspect I have to take into my consideration is that learning from the past makes it easier for us to move on in the present and in the future. One thing needs to stress is that reviewing the past is not about remembering everything and knowing everying on a time line, but about analylizing people and societies, and interpreting the decisions that were made in the past in order to help us understand the events of our own time. By doing this, we can live in the world properly in the current world as well as in the future. It is obvious that people record history in order to learn something from it. Also, reviewing history gives people preparations for the present problems and questions in the future.

In addition, it is the past that experiences come from, so if one wants to solve problmes based on experiences, he/she has to review the past. As a student who will prepare for the final exams, what should he/she does? Good students spend their time to review their notes on classes, and try to remember the main points made by professors on classes. Then they would like to find some exam papers which used by students in the previous years in order to be familiar with the questions will presented in the tests. This is an effective way and it really works based on my own experience. In fact I use this method throughout my whole education in university, and got high scores. As a result, reviewing the past really works.

Of course, there are not counterparts for some problems in the past, but similar situations about how people dealt with completely new problems in the pastcan help us find out methods to search for solutions to these problems. Consequently, it is useful to review to past in order to solve problems of present and of future.

The reading text figures out three hypotheses to explain the decline of yellow cedar in northwestern North America. On the contrary, the speaker think that reason of the decline is still unknown, therefore these hypotheses in the reading section are inadaquate to some extent.

First, the professor explains that yellow cedar in fact has srong resistance to cedar brak beetle than any other species. Becauese the leaves of yellow cedar can produce one kind of chemical which is toxic to cedar bark beetle. As a result, it is unlikely that cedar brak beetle is the cause of the decline. Furthermore, the professor points out that the trees which are attacked by cedar bark beetle are already sick. They will die even without being attacked by cedar bark beetle. Thus, the first hypothese in the reading text is disputed.

Second, the speaker argues that the decline of yellow cedar is widespreading, which occours both in the mainland and on the islands. However, there are no bears on the islands. Therefore, brown bears can not be the reason for the decine of yellow cedar, because the decline happens with and without bears. Consequently, the bear hypothese cited in the reading is also unsounded.

Third, the professor explains that the author forgets to take into account one fact. The fact is that yellow cedar in the lower elevation where climate is warmer suffers more damages than the high elevation where the climates is cool. Moreover, he says that the climate change indeed makes the trees more sensitive than they used to be. But this change is not severe enough to kill them. Thus, the third hypothese in the reading is totally unsounded.

8月27日 know a person from type of friends that he has, agree or disagree

As an old saying goes: birds of a feather block together. According to this statement, similarities exist between friends to some extent. In our daily life, situations are not rare that some people like to get together and share the same interests or even their preferences are same to each other within the group. They mey eat together in the same restaurant and play football or basketball in the playground in their spare time. Meanwhile, friends tend to have some impact on each other and then they change their actions or behavior to adjust themselves to their friends. Based on these cases, I agree with viewpoint that people can know a person from type of friends that one has.

In the first place, no one can deny the fact that a person's friends is the most important aspect of his/her life. Hardly can one live alone with no friends around him/her to share happinesses and to stay beside he/she when he/she is sad. Nowadays, the chances to make friends with others are more frequent than before, people have variosu ways to find friends which are suitable for them. At the same time, the process of making friends is to understand each other in different ways, such as they may all love the same food and like to cook meals for their family. Thus, when two people have this same hobby meet together, they have some experiences to share, and then talk about how to improve their skills. It is hard to imagine that two people with different interests can be best friends. As a result, we can find some clues about what this person like or dislike from his/her friends.

Another important aspect I need to stress is that friends can influence each other in their daily life whether it is intentioanlly or unconsciously. It is indispututable that friends' influences really can change one's actions or behaviors either in their study or in their workplace. The result is that friends tend to be similar in some ways since their influences are based on personal preferences or experiences. After they carry on their own efforts to their friends, they will behave similarly. One of my best friends likes to keep everything clean and clear in the dorm, on the other hand, I want to put my staffs everywhere not according to the order. However, under his influence and his preference to keep things in order, I finally change my bad hibits.

Finally, one important factor I cannot oversee is that friends usually know what their parter do today, their feelings about other people, which they may unwilling to talk with their parents. It is widely acknowleged that teenagers are rebellious so that they tend to inhibit some of their feelings and behave properly in front of their parents. On the other hand, when going out with friends, they behave more naturally. No one can deny the fact that he/she has some secrets that he/she only tell his/her friends but not parents or teachers. Therefore, we can know a person's other aspects from type of friends that one has.

In conclusion, one's friends are one of the most important aspects in his/her life, and friends tend to influence each other so that they tend to behave similarly after they spend enough time together. In addition, there are some feelings of a person which we can only know from one's friends. Consequently, I have to agree with the statement that we can know a person from type of friends that this person has.

The reading text talks about some evidences that may reveal materials which seem to be remains of soft tissue of T.rex. On the contrary, the speaker does not agree with the viewpoints in the reading, and he says that scientists need to be skeptical about their conclusion.

First, in contrast to what has been said in the reading text that the remains in the channels of T.rex are blood vesels, the professor argues that there may be another reasons of these remains. He then explains that bacterias lived in these channels long after the T.rex died. Therefore the soft remains might be the residue of these bacteria conlonies. This directly contradicts its counterpart in the reading text.

Second, the speaker states that the origion of spheres may not be the red blood cells, which is one evidence for soft tissue in the passage. He further says that other fossils found in the same place also contain the same type of spheres, and these animal did not had red blood cells when they were alive. As a result, these spheres are unlikely to be red blood cells, the professor guesses the origion of these spheres may be some redish minerals.

Third, the professor points out that collagen can not be kept for more than 100, 000 years, while the fossil of T.rex is more than 70, 000, 000 years' old. He says that this contradict our knowledge of collagen nowadays. Then the professor explains that the source of the collagen may be from the skin of the researchers who handling the fossil, since their skin also contains collagen. Therefore, the idea in the reading text is totally unsounded, according to the professor.
