9月1日 agree or disagree,in order to be succeed, you should be more like others than be different from everyone else Almost no one can deny the fact that everyone is unique in human society, that is to say, people are different from each other in various ways. To be extreme, even the twins are different to some extent, not to say ordinary people who are from different families and parts of the world. On the contrary, as what is said in the statement, in order to achieve success, people should tend to be more similar with others rather than to be different from other people in our society. Do you think this opinion is reasonable even at the first glance? I guess most people would disagree with this viewpoint, and I am off to it either.
In the first place, if one tends to be the same with a loser, then the result is that this person is likely to be a loser too. Hardly can one imagine the fact that one person always want to be the same as a criminal or as some people do not want to work so they just sit along the road to wait others' money for free can be successful in the future. An recent survey shows that nearly 73% of people who have live with some people who have a negative view of the society have difficulties to gain success in their later life, not to mention people who tend to be the same as those losers.
Another point I want to emphasize is that other factors-the opportunities, the attitudes toward succes and the courage to face and defeat failure-are more important than to be the same as other people in order to achieve success. Although many people consistently maintain the fact that it will make others feel uncomfortable to perform differently with others in companies or in schools, so that their efforts can not be acknowledged by these people easily, then they can not be successful without the confirmation of others. It must be admitted that in modern society, people in growing number begin to realize that other people play less and less impacts on individual's success.
In fact, I have to admitted that to be the same as other successful people and learn experience, information and knowledge from them can help one make less mistakes on their way towards success. On the other hand, this oppotunity is so scarce, and some celebrities are unwilling to share their secrets of success to others.
In conclusion, one tends to be a loser if he/she performs similarly as a loser, and other factors are more important than to be the same as others in order to gain success. Although people may find some shortcut by being the same as successful people, the chance is limited. Consequently, I disagree with the point.
TPO 6 In the reading text, it has been talked about problems relate to on-line encyclopedias. In contrast, the speaker does no agree with these points in the passage. She says that the opinions may based on prejudices and ignores the advantages of on-line encyclopedias.
First, contrary to what is said in the passage that on-line encyclopedias include errors, the speaker argues that all encyclopedias contain errors. She points out the advantage of on-line encyclopedias is that its errors can be corrected quickly after they are found. However, traditional encyclopedias may remain these mistakes for decades because it is difficult to make changes in paper based materials.
Second, it is stated in the reading text that on-line encyclopedias can be easily changed by hackers and other unscrupulous users. On the other hand, the speaker explains that people had already realized this problem, and they make the crucial part of on-line encyclopedias read only format, in this way the crucial part of it can be protected. They also use special auditors to monitor every change in on-line encyclopedias in order to avoid this problem.
Third, according to the reading text, on-line encyclopedias contains information which is not very important to the topic. However, the professor explains that the space in traditional encyclopedias is limited. Therefore, writers should choose which are important based on their experiences. Thus, traditional encyclopedias can not cover all people' interests. But this problem does not exist in on-line encyclopedias, the space is sufficient enough to include various views and topics in order to reflect people' different interests. This is the most important advantage of on-line encyclopedias. |
