Dieting is no use to lose weight, what do useful is to eat everytime you hungry. There are two reason for that.for one, your brain will
keep the balance of the body without your awareness. It responds to situation change but won't change its internal setting easily. When it comes to weigt lost, when we diet, the body feel the lack of energy,so it distract the fat temportary, but the brain can't tell whether you should lost weight or not, when you quit your diet, you will regain the weight. And even if you are successful dieting ,you wouldn't lower you set point.
What's more,if you stay the high weight for too long your brain will take it as normal point, and everytime you change the food input,it spare no effect to stay the same. What do matter is mindfulness eatting: To eat when you hungry and to stop when you full.you will surely become happier and healthier.
[speed]

Speaker: Sandra shares us with some important knowledge about dieting and obesity. First of all, dieting is a useful way to lose weight, because this behavior will cause misunderstanding to our brain. And actually, for people who use dieting to lose weight now, only one of them may keep thin in several years later while more will get fatter. Also, dieting has more negative impact  on children. This disorder will cause a higher risk of obesity for children who take it even they are at normal weight when start.  Another important fact is that, even for obesity people, their risk of death can keep within the same level as people with normal weight, if they keep healthy behaviors. And these behaviors include increase exercise, eat more vegetables, do not smoke and keep a median level of drink.

我看了一下,这位speaker是神经科学类的学者,也是科普作家,她的科普著作有这一本,感觉应该很不错(虽然有一个很唬烂和一定吸引错读者的中文译名)

The biggest economic risk is physical inactivity

Obstacle: 2'47''
Government can reverse the bad influence of the obesity on economy and people's health  through some measures.
Fast food which contains high sugar and  high fact accounts for the obesity.
The data show the corresponding between the increased number of fast food transportation and the increased  obesity rate.
So the government should take measures to discourage the development of fast-food industry by restricting the ad , controlling import or managing food subsidies and taxes .
Moreover, government should encourage people to eat more fruit and vegetables to establish healthier diet

SPK : dieting will never lose your weight but will ruin your life. because when to eat and how much we should eat controlled by brain, brain will keeep body staying at the normal way. so shortterm dieting will make brian think you are starving and lead to eat more next meal, this progress we cant controll. so mindfull eating, eat when you hungry until body feel good.
spd : 0.53 americans become more healthier, one reason is that food companies reduce the calories contain in food, and an antiobesity move has implemented.
1.55 obesity rate had raised significantly since 1980,Americans’ health is still abysmal. Worryingly, obesity rates are highest among the poor and uneducated children, because they have less exercise. Improving Americans’ health still take much more.

回忆:美国的肥胖率下来了,但是还不足以说明他们很健康。
THE overweight American, slurping some soda in his car, is an international stereotype. Thank god, fewer American fit this mould. The obesity rate in America is flat from 2011-2012 except Arkansas.
A pledge issued from 18 food companies claiming to reduce 1 trillion calories achieved its goal by reducing 6.9 trillion according to the report funded by a respected health philanthropy.
However, there is a few darken cloud in such sunny picture. The health situation of American is still abysmal. Obesity is defined as a body-mass index of 30 or above. In 1980, less than 15% American were obesity. But now, the obesity rate in each state are higher than 20%. Some states even exceed 30 in BMI.
What influence the obesity rate? According to a study, education level of parents influence the kids’ obesity rate. Under college degree parental environment, the obesity rate has decreased from 12% to less than 7%. However, among kids of high school degree parents, the obesity rate reaches 20-25%.
From another study, we learned that it is not the fastfood that cultivate obesity. It is the volume of exercise that matters.
All this serves as a reminder of an important fact, well known but worth highlighting once more. Millions of Americans are ill thanks to factors that have nothing to do with the health system, from poverty to food marketing to poor urban planning to strapped school athletic programmes. Obamacare helps previously uninsured Americans afford treatment. Improving Americans’ health will take much more.
