The reading text talks about the reasons why critics oppose to the "let is burn" policy. While, the professor in the lecture states her opinon to support this policy, and give her explanations accroding to the three points made in the reading passage.

First, according to the professor, the fire not only causes damages to the forest, but also it is a creative process. It provides opportunities to some small plants whihc need open and unshade enviorment to grow. While, if there were not fire to burn large trees, these small plants are unable to compete with them. Moreover, certain type of seeds need high level of heat in order to germinate. So, the fire also offers opportunity for these plants to grow. In this way, vegetations in the forest become more diverse. This is directly contradicted to its counterpart in the reading text.

Second, after plants recover, some small animals like rabbits and hares would feed on these plants. Then some predators whiich feed on these small animals will arrive. In this way, the food chain becoms even stronger than the situation before the fire. So, the second reason in the reading text is disputed.

Third, the professor points out that if the fire last for a long time, it would affect the local economy by reducing the  number of tourists. In fact, the Yellowstone fire did not last long. Several reasons such as less rain, strong wind, dry weather worked together caused this fire. Thus, this kind of fire was very rare, it not happen for many years after that one. So, tourists came to Yellowstone the year after that fire, and then every year after the big fire. Therefore, the third reason in the reading passage is totally unsounded.

When it comes to the question of whether high
studentsshould take a course on basic economics, different people hold different opinions. Some people think basic economics would benefits high school students for several reasons. While others believe that high school students have already so many courses to study, and hire(What’s more, hiring) new teachers means extra spending for high school, thus, these people do not agree with the plan to provide basic economics to high(school) students. From my point of a student who also experienced high school life, and based on the experiences of others that I familiar with, I support the idea that high school students should take basic economicscourse. The reasons are as follow.

To
begin with, high school students need related knowledge in order to learn how to budget their money properly. Basic economics offers the knowledge about how to use money in a proper way, such as it talks about in which time of the day time(that) the price of the vegetables will be the lowest according to demand and supply theory. In this way, students can save their money. Also, it can also help students expand this knowledge to their study(through learning), they may make a plan on their study. In the plan, students can make use of the time, they would spend time which they can learn more effectively to study even their classmates call them to play, while, when they fell tired, they will spend time to do exercises or other entertainments to relax themselves. By doing this, they also learn how to use their time properly. As we can see,
basic economics course is really helpful to high school students.

Moreover, basic economics gives high
(school) students different perspective on their own life. The major coursed in high school include nature science, history, literature and so forth. All of these courses are not tightly connecting to their daily life as basic economics is. The knowledge in basic economics relates to different aspects of people' daily life. One example of this is that taxes. It explains why the governmentneed(needs) taxes, such as in order to support normal function of the government, provide salaries to government employees, offer financial(funds) support to public projects. Then, it provides information about what types of taxes certain people should pay, while others they need not pay. Learning this can help high students understand the tax system.

Finally, basic economics is beneficial for students, it will encourage students to do some part time jobs in order to use the knowledge they learnt. When students do part time jobs, they contact with different people, learn how to deal with them and how to do their jobs well. These work experiences are important for their future work,
and also can influence their choices to choose a major when they enroll university. I took a part time job in a book store when I was in high school. I read lots of books about history there, and this experience help me to get high score in history class. After I entered university, I decided to learn history as well. Besides, I could use the money I earned to buy something I wanted to. This helped me relieve economic burden on my parents partly.

Of course,
learning extra course on basic economics require time and energy for high (school) students. To hire new teachers also increases school's expense. However, compared to the benefits which students receive from the course,
(总觉得这句话有种说不出的感觉是不是这样比较好啊,compared to the benefits from students to take the course ) it really worth to take basic economics. Based on what have been discussed above, we can safely draw the conclusion that it is necessary for high students to take basic economic course.

7月6日Do you agree with the viewpoint that people are now easier to become educated than in the past?

When I was little, my grandfather told me his story about how he got educated in order to incent me to study hard, and told me to cherish the precious chance to be educated. He stated that he had to weak up at six o'clock on the morning, then walked to shcool which was six miles away from his home. Textbooks were rare at that time, so one textbook was used by two students. Meanwhile, there was only one teacher at his school, he taught all of the courses, which inculde literature, history, but no math and other nature science courses. At that time, I was in the sixth grade in primary school, the teaching conditions were much better at that time just only fifty years after my grandfather's study story. So, based on my own experiences, I believe people are now easier to become educated than in the past.

To begin with, modern people have so many ways to get educated than people in the past. The main way to become educated is to enroll a university, whether it is at one's hometown or abroad. Most of my classmates at primary school choosed to study at university, some of them even went to study in the United States or Canada. Then, vocational schools and community colleges also provide opportunities for people to become educated.  My classmates who did not have the chances to study in university went to these schools, they also learnt weel and have a good job after they graduated. In addition, I have to mention that nowadays, people also can choose a on-line education. This way is convenient and much cheaper than traditional education.

Moreover, the development of transportation system help present people travel fast and conveniently. Cars, trains, planes all save the time people on their way to school, and also make it possible for people traveling long distance so as to study the stubject they interested in. When I want to go somewhere to make a survey, I can easily get there by driving my own car. It only takes me several hours to arrive at my destiantion. Also, when I want to take part in a international conference, I attend there by air, whether it is in my homeland, or in the U.S. In only a few hours I can go to every places on this planet by a planes. In this way, I can keep in touch with my peers in the same field, exchange some ideas with them, and improve my own knowledge. On the contrary, people in the past had to spend more then one day or even a few months on their ways in order to visit some famous scholars.

Finally, mass education offers the opportunity for every one in modern society to become educated. Countries around the world give their people free education from primary school to high school, some of them provide free university education for their citizens. In China, the central government requires all school-age children to participate in nine-year compulsory education system. Now, this system has become universal both in urban and rural areas in China. Some primary schools provede free meals to students whose financial conditation are not so well. While, my grandfather told me that, fifty years ago, only people who had enough wealth could go to school to become educated, most of his friends needed to help their parents do field work since they were very young, thus, they had no opportunities to go to school to study.

Of course, television, movies and internet were not available in the past, people in the past also had only a few entertainments to relax themselves. Therefore, they could focus their energy and time on study. While, without the electricity, they could only learn during the day. Candles and oil-burning lamps were not bright enough and did harm to their eyes. So, based on what have been discussed above, there are so many advantages to study in modern society. It is obviosu that people nowadays are easier to become educated.

The reading test discusses three benefits of planting genetic modified trees. While, the professor in the lecture doubt the real advantages of planting genetic modified trees, furthermore, she points out that if people look more closely, they could find these trees may casue seriour problems, and even bring damages.

First, the professor explains that wild trees are genetically diverse. Therefore, if some uncertain climate changes or pest infections happen, some of willd trees which have the resistence can survive even most of other trees would die. On the contrary, genetically modified trees are unifrom, so, if they experiences some climate changes or pest invade which they are no designed for, they would be totally wiped out. This is the first disadvantage of planting genetically modified trees.

Second, company that sell genetically modified tree seeds charges farmers more money than will tree seeds. Also, according to the law, farmers have to pay the company every time they plant these modified trees. As you can see, planting genetically modified trees is more expensive.

Third, geneticaly modified trees are growing amoung wild trees, they will compete with wild trees for resources such as water, sunlight, soil, nutrient with wild trees. Because genetically modified trees grow more agressively, wild trees would likely be cracked out by these trees. Thus, the last benefit of planting genetically modified trees is disputed.

it is more important to choose friends that 更能 have fun with than to choose friends that will help you when you need them..

When it comes to the question of how to choose friends, different people have various opinions. Some of them would like to be a friend with someone they can have fun with. While others others are more practical, they believe that friends should be people who can help each other when they have some difficulties, so, they think it is better to choose friends who can help them when they need help. As far as I am concerned, I love to make friends with people with whom I can have a lot of fun. The reasons are as follows.

To begin with, a friend who is willing to help me is really important, but I do not always need my friends' help everyday. Instead, I can have fun with my friends when I want to relax myself, or when they get lazy or tired, we tell some jokes to each other in order to relieve ourselves, so that all of us can feel pleasant and harmony when we get together. When I was in high school, there were so many courses to study. Along with some much homework, there was not so much time to relax. While, on the weekend, some of my friends often invited me to go pinics in the park with them. They prepared all of the things needed for a picnic such as meats, vegetables, fruit and so forth. After eating these great food, we played some games together. At the end of the picnic, we all felt tired but very joyful and relaxed. One week's stressful feelings all gone with pleasant atmosphere in the park. In contrast, one person who wants to help you may not do these things with you.

Moreover, I think it is easy to make friends with people who have a good sense of humor. Most of humorous people which I met in the past were easy-going and friendly. They also want to offer their help when I need them. In other words, a friend that will help you may not have a good sense of humor, while, one friend which you can have fun with will help if you need their help. I do not want to have a friend who can give me help when I need, but behaves he/she is superior.

Finally, a friend with whom one can have fun means than both of them share some common interests, this is very important to develop further relationshio with friends. Friendship is so precious, it is a pity to lose a friend. Choosing friends have the same interests is one ways to maintain friendship for a long time. I enjoyed in playing football when I was a child. My frined Mike also interested in it. We played together in our school team for more then ten years, from primary school to middle school, and then in high school. We went to different places to receive higher education later, but when we went back to our hometown, we often find some time to play together. Mike also love to share his experiences in playing football at his university. I feel so happy to have a friend like Mike.

Of course, sometimes we need help from others, especially from our friends. Friends can help us solve some problems for free and some problems which we can not deal with them even with the help of our parents. However, there are so many ways to find solutions for our difficulties, I think it is not proper to find a friend just becasue they can help me. Therefore, I would like to make friends with people I can have fun.

感觉有点绝对化)
建议少用therebe句型:)
Moreover, I think it is easy to make friends withpeople who have a good sense of humor. Most of humorous people whichwho I met in the past were easy-going and friendly. They alsowant to offer their help when I need them. In other words, a friend that willhelp you may not have a good sense of humor, while, one friend which you can have fun withwill help if you need their help(这一句没看太懂。。。). I do not want to have afriend who can give me help when I need, but behaves he/she is superior.

主旨是humorous的朋友能给我们帮助,好相处。最后一句不喜欢傲娇的朋友,这之间缺一些逻辑链连接。
Finally, afriend with whom one can have fun means thanthat ,其次主谓搭配有问题) both of them share some common interests, thiswhich is very important to develop further relationshio withfriends. Friendship is so precious, it is a pity to lose a friend. 简单句连接一定要有连词 或者用分号Choosing friends have the same interests is one ways to maintainfriendship for a long time. We played together in our school team formore then ten years, from primary school to middle school, and then in highschool. 最后在从实例往结论推一下吧)

Of course, sometimes we need help from others, especially from our friends. Friends can help us solve some problems for freeand some problems which we can not deal withthem (删除)even with the help of our parents. However, there are somany ways to find solutions for our difficulties, I think it is not proper tofind a friend just becasue they can help me. Therefore, I would like to make friendswith people I can have fun.

lz是不是写的太快了~语法错误有点多~另外举完例子以后 再多说一两句更好的完善分论点~fighting啦!!

The author of the reading text states that ethanol fuel is not an ideal alternative to gasoline for three reasons. On the contrary, the professor in the lecture does not agree with those points from the critics of the production of ethanol. He argues that the three reasons in the reading text are not convincing at all.

First, the professor explains that though the burning of ethanol does release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. However, ethanol is made from plants such as corn and so forth. While, plants need carbon dioxide as nutrient. Thus, growing plants actually absorb carbon dioxide from atmosphere. This would counteract with the release of burning ethanol. Therefore, the first reason in the reading text is disputed.

Second, the professor states that the production ethanol will not reduce the food supply of animals. The reason is that producers use cellucoses, which are plants' cell walls, to produce ethanol. And cell walls are not eaten by animals. So, production of ethanol would not reduce available food resource for animals. Then, the second reason in the reading text is totally unsounded.

Third, the professor positively believe that the price of ethanol would drop. He says that producers of ethanol will not need government subsides if they increase the amount of production. He fruther explains that the price will go down by 40% if the production of ethanol is three times as many as before. Thus, the third reason in the reading is directly denied by the professor.

The author of the reading text states three hypotheses to explain the decline of yellow cedar in northwestern North America. While, the professor in the lecture states that the reason of the decline is still unknown. And these hypotheses are inadaquate.

First, the professor explains that yellow cedar in fact has srong resistance to cedar brak beetle than any other species. The leaves of yellow cedar can produce chemical which is toxic to cedar bark beetle. So, it is unlikely that cedar brak beetle is the cause of the decline. Furthermore, the professor points out that the trees which been attacked by cedar bark beetle are already sick, they will die even without been attacked by cedar bark beetle. Thus, the first hypothese in the reading text is disputed.

Second, the professor argues that the decline of yellow cedar is very wide. The decline of yellow cedar occours both in the mainland and on the islands. While, there are no bears on these islands. Therefore, brown bears can not be the reason the explain the decine of yellow cedar, because the decline happens with and without bears.

Third, the professor explains that the author of the reading text forget to take into account one fact. The fact is that yellow cedar in the lower elevation where climate is warmer suffers more damages than the high elevation where the climates is cool. Moreover, he says that the climate change indeed makes the trees more sensitive than they used to be. But this change is not severe enough to kill them. Thus, the third hypothese in the reading is totally unsounded.

Banban的文章总体没有问题,就是第二段有几个句子感觉用了though,和while以后,没有接后面的句子。感觉怪怪的啊。不过这点到底是不是问题,我也不太确定。你可以再斟酌一下哈~.
