One of your classmates needs help with some schoolwork. Which solution would you recommend your classmate should do to ask you for help or to find a professional tutor for help?

Students may confront with some problems which they can not solve. Therefore, they need to ask someonoe else for help in order to find solutions. Some of them prefer to ask their classmates for help, while others would like to ask a professional tutor. These two options all have their advantages and disadvantages. However, based on my experiences as a student, I would recommend my classmates to ask a professional tutor when they have some difficulties. My reasons are as follows.

To begin with, asking professional tutor can save my classmate's precious time which they spend on study. Professional tutors have years of experiences of teaching students and solving problems which students face. A professional tutor may help students everyday. Thus, when asking a professional tutor, they can give the answer as quickly as possible if they already solve some similar problmes. If they do not see the question before, they have more time to solve the problem. Also, they can ask their friends who have relatated knowledge to help thenm find solutions. Once I found a very difficult math problem, I worked on it for a few days, but could not find correct answer. Then I asked my classmates for help. But the result was that none of them had the ability to solve it. Then, one of my father's old friends who was a professional tutor heard the question, he just find the solution as soon as he saw the question, because he had solve similar quesions before. Thus, when I found some questions next time, I would ask him first in order to save my time. So, if my classmates need help with their schoolwork, I usually suggest to ask a professional tutor.

Moreover, a professinal tutor makes relatively less mistakes about their answers. Students ask someone else for help in order to get right answers, so, I recommend them ask a professional tutor in order to get the right answer. I remember that when I was in high school, my friends Mike and I worked together to solve a question on physics, the question was so difficult that both of us got exhausted. We did not want to see it any more, so, Mike and I asked one of our classmates for help, who got a high score on the term test. He solve the quesion immediately, said that it was just a piece of cake. While, Mike did the experiment according to his solution. The result showed that our classmate's answer was totally wrong. His result was 50% higher than the number given in the textbook. In the end, Mike wrote a letter to a physicist for help. The professional tutor gave us the right answer and explained how to get the answer step by step. As you can see from this example, professional tutor's answer is more reliable.

Finally, professional tutors' acdemic level is more advanced, therefore, by asking them quesions and talking to them, students can become more developed. I would like to take my experience as an example to illustrate this point. My math teacher in middle shcool was really brillant. When he solved the math problems, he could gave us more than ten solutions on the same question. Then, He told us how to use the method in solving this problem to find answers to other similar questions. By doing this, he give us a clear outline of the whole textbook. I often talked to him because I interested in math. With his help, I made quite a progres.

Of course, I always ready to offer my help when my classmates ask me to give them a hand. However, the fact is that I can not ensure my answers are all right, and solving their problems takes me so much time. So, based on what I have been discussed above, I would definitely recommend my classmates to ask a professional tutor for help when they have some problems about their schoolwork.

The author ofthe reading text states that ethanol fuel is not an ideal alternative togasoline for three reasons. On the contrary, the professor in the lecture doesnot agree with those points from the critics of the production of ethanol. Heargues that the three reasons in the reading text are not convincing at all.

First, the professor explains that though theburning of ethanol does release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
(怎么感觉后面要加个句子才比较完整啊?)However, ethanol is made from plants such as corn and so forth. While, plants need carbon dioxide as nutrient.(我感觉这句后面也要加一句啊)Thus, growing plants actually absorb carbon dioxide from atmosphere. This wouldcounteract with the release of burning ethanol. Therefore, the first reason inthe reading text is disputed.

Second, the professor states that the productionethanol will not reduce the food supply of animals. The reason is thatproducers use
cellucoses, which are plants' cell walls, to produceethanol. And cell walls are not eaten by animals. So, production of ethanolwould not reduce available food resource for animals. Then, the second reasonin the reading text is totally unsounded.

Third, the professor positively believe
sthat the price of ethanol would drop. He says that producers of ethanol willnot need government subsides if they increase the amount of production. He fruther explains that the price will go down by 40% ifthe production of ethanol is three times as many as before. Thus, the thirdreason in the reading is directly denied by the professor.

The author of the reading text talks about one discovery about some remains of T.rex, and claims that these remains may be blood vessels, red blood cells, and collagen matrix. While, the professor in the lecture does not agree with the author, he says that the author should be skiputical about the discovery.

First, the professor points out that the channels problely be something else, but not blood vessels of T.rex. Because bacteria usually colonize the hollows in the bones after T.rex's death. So, the organic remains may be left by bacteria colony rather than actual blood vessels. Thus, first point in the reading text is unsounded.

Second, the professor argues that scientisets have found the same spheres in the fossils of other animals in the same place where T.rex fossils are found. These animls did not have red blood cells when they were alive. Therefore, the spheres in the T.rex are unlikely to the original of this animal. The professor guesses it may be the residue of minerals. This directly cast doubt on its counterpart in the reading text.

Third, the professor says that collagen can not exsist for more than one thousand years, so, the collagen contained in the leg bone of T.rex is unlikely to be T.rex's. Instead, human skin contains this material, one explaination of the presence of cellagen may be coming from the researchers who touch the bones with their hands. Therefore, the collagen totally has no connection with T.rex, according to the professor.

Do you agree with the viewpoint that the most important investment of a company is to improve the skills of its employees

When it comes to the question of whether the most important investment of a company is to improve the skills of its employees, different people hold various opinions. Some people against this point because they consider the most important investment should be spent on basic facilities and then to expand the company so as to make it more stronger. While ohters firmly believe employees are the essential part of a company, they would love to improve their imployees' skills. From my point of view, I am inclined to the later, I think employees play an important role in a company, they are an absolute necessity of a company. Therefore, improving their skills is definitely a wise investment. I will list my reasons as follows.

First of all, improving employees' skills helps them finish their work more quickly so that they can produce more products during their working time. Experienced workers know how to do their works effectively. For example, a recent survey shows that experienced workers in a cloth making company can produce twice as many clothes as new workers. At the same time, they make less mistakes such as break the mathines during their working time. Therefore, if a company invests money on a project to improve their employees' skills, it will help new workers learn more quickly. Then, new workers become experienced. They just can produce as many products as experienced workers. They can produce more goods for the company.

Moreover, improving workers' skills  can help to ensure them work safely so as to avoid unnecessary damages both for themselves and the company. Skilled workers have the experience of which step is difficult to control, which step is more dangerous than other steps. So, they become absorbed then they come to these steps. So, by improving emloyees' skills, the company can ensure its production safety. People in my country complain the safety of coal workers. Every year, some accidetns would happen in the coal mine, which kill tens of workers. One of the problems is that unskilled coal workers do not know how to perform properly in the coal mines. If workers know how to finish their work step by step, the rate of accidents could be reduced by 60% according to a goverment research. Thus, improving employees' skills is really important.

Finally, the company can make more profits by improving their worker's skills. As what states in the first paragraph, more products means more money for the comopany. At the same time, if the workers in the sale department are well enough to persuade their consumers to buy their products, these products will bring real money to the company. One improtant way to help the sale workers is to improve their work skills. hus it is very important for a company to invest money on this.

Of course, others may argue that improving company's fundamental facilities is more important than improving workers' skills. I agree with point because a company can not keep its normal operation. But, facilities are the basic for all companies, and we all know the fact that facilities can not produce products without the help of workers. So, Based on what I have been discussed above, it is safe to say that improving the work skills of the worker is the important and essential for a company.

To kch

The author of the reading text talks about several benefits of offering four-day workweek to employees. While, the professor in the lecture disagree with the author, further, he says that this change would not affect workers' lives as the author suggested in the passage.

First, the professor explains that hiring new workers would cost companies more than before. Because companies should trainning new employees and buy medical insurances for their employees. The cost of medical insurances are same whether the worker works for five days or four days a week. Then, new employees need new office space and computers. All of this would cut into the profits of companies. Thus is directly contradicted to its counterpart in the reading text.

Second, the professor says that there will no more jobs available for others as a result of what he said in the second paragraph. Since hiring new workers is costly, companies may rise their expetation on their four-day workweek employees. They may want their four-day workweek employees work as much as five-day workweek employees. By doing this, no new jobs would be created, and employees feel unpleasant to do so much work. So, the second benefits provided in the reading text is disputed by the professor.

Third, there may be some risk for four-day workweek employees. Working four days a week may decrease their stability, thus they would problely the first to lose their jobs during a economic depression. Moreover, when employers want to promote some of their empoyees to the management prosition, they definitely give more chances to the five-day workweek workers, in case of their entire workweek. Therefore, the last benefit of four-day workweek is totally unsounded, according to the professor.

Do you agree with the following statement that patience is usually not a good strategy, we should take action now rather than later
When it comes to the question of whether should people spend some time to think before they take action, different people hold various opinions. Some people says that opportunities would go quickly if they do not grasp them, thus, they would like to take action as soon as possible. On the contrary, others believe patience is often a good straegy, they usually consoder all aspects of the situation, and the consequences of their decision. Personally speaking, I prefer the later choice, my reasons are as follows.

To begin with, people can make relatively less mistakes if they are petient before they take action. I will speak from my own experience. I am a university student majoring in mechanical engineering. In my daily life, I always take sufficient time to think about what I will do before I take action. For example, three months ago, I decided to take GRE, so I began to prepare for it. Before I took any action, I made a detail plan according to my ability and time I can spend on this test. I spent amost one week on making this plan, because I had to take classes about my major subjects and I read lots of other people' articles about how to prepare this test. Then I did everything based on my plan, I really got a high score on it. On the contrary, one of my classmate who also took this text, but he said it was a waste of time to make plan, he just did some practices after he signed up for the test. The result was not surprising, he failed on this test. According to this test, I realized that patience contribute greatly to one's sucess. Thanks to patience, I can get I high score on the GRE. If I took action as my classmate did, I would make mistakes as him.

Moreover, people really need patience to do some specific works. Patience means that one needs to spend sufficient time on the work they do, have the confidence do to it well, and to continue on whenever they confront with setbacks or they may feel depressed when they fail. As we all know, education is a kind of work which needs people be patient with. It lasts for so long a time, from primary school, middle school, then fianlly into university, if one has no patience, s/he can hardly finish the learning process. Thus, patience is helpful for people on these specfic works.

Finally, patience is one factor to judge whether one person is grow-up or not. Adults are more tactful than young people, they are usually more patient before they do something. Years of experiences give them the wisdom to consider thoroughly before they make any decisions. In contrast, people who always take action immediately are thought to be not wisdom engough. For instance, a recent survey shows that, adults spend nearly more time before they take action. While, youngests usually do not consider patience as a good strategy, they often care-free and optimistic about what they do. But, according to the result of this survey, adults are more sucessuful than youngests in performing the tasks designed in the survey. So, we can see from this survey that, adults and youngests behave differently when they perform some tasks. Adults are more mature than youngests.

Of course, the opportunity will escape if you do not seize it. However, one thing that everyone needs to pay attention to is that, before you grasp it, you need to ensure you can succeed. Otherwise, the damage it brings to you would far outweith the advantage you get from it. Therefore, based on what I have been discussed above, we can safely drwa the conclusion that people need patience as a kind of good strategy.

The author of the reading test talks about some advantages of working in a team. While, the professor in the lecture disagrees with the author, and cites one real project did by one company to cast doubt on what the author said in the passage.

First, some of the group members got free-ride when they worked in a group. The reason was that when some members made some successes, their successes would be attributed to the group but not themselves. This means that group members could enjoy the successes even they do not make contribution.  Also, some workers who made insightful contrubutions said they just felt upset which was opposite to what the author said in the passage.

Second, it took long time before a group could make an agreement, because they needed so many meetings to get consensus from all members of the group. This is directly contradicted to its counterpart in the reading text.

Third, the professor points out that certain influtial members in the group could do harm to the group. He explains that if the influtial members said some ideas would not work well, then these ideas were quickly dropt without any further discussion. While, if these influtial members decided to do something, no one could stop them even other members warned that their decision might lead to the wrong direction. Moreover, if they really failed, all members of the group would be blamed. In this case, the benefit stated in the reading text is totally unsounded, according to the professor.
