美国的中学生不会不知加碱减少酸性（中和反应）的化学知识吧，初中没读，高中也该读。美国人重视实践，轻视抽象思维，中和反应这个最基本的化学反应不该不读。我认为不好，是毕竟用了一点理科知识。出题机构说所有信息都在PASSAGE中，但同时也说常识性（不用推理的）的东西应该懂。问题就难在哪些算不用推理。我想LSAT的题有时就在这点上难把握。这就是相不相关的问题。

我支持A,

1. If an unrefined olive oil is intermediate in acidity between two other unrefined olive oils, it will also be intermediate between them in quality.---由酸性得出质量，而题目第一句就是 The quality of unrefined olive oil is not actually defined in terms of acidity, 这不就矛盾了吗？
2. 第二句yet extensive tests have shown that the less free oleic acid an unrefined olive oil contains per liter, the higher its quality. 说的是 free oleic acid 浓度与质量好坏成反比。我是从这点看，认为A 比较好。提炼的过程就应该是oil 质量提高了（这里是我觉得可能有问题的地方，可能不是从问中推出的，常识吧），成反比，所以浓度下降。

题目有些奇怪，第三句说的是 free oleic acid 浓度能很好的表示出酸度，好像没有什么作用。但总的来说，我觉得题目的关键在于质量和free oleic acid 浓度关系而不是和酸度。

1. 注意第一句的yet, 是反对前面的陈述, 也就是作者认为---The quality of unrefined olive oil should be actually defined in terms of acidity. 这句话应与extensive tests have shown that the less free oleic acid an unrefined olive oil contains per liter, the higher its quality所表达的意思一致. 由此可推出: acidity 就是 free oleic acid 的acidity.

2. The proportion of free oleic acid that an olive oil contains is an accurate measure of the oil’s acidity.

注意accurate. 如果olive oil 还含有其他的acid, 那么The proportion of free oleic acid 就不可能是an accurate measure of the oil’s acidity.

所以, 答案应该是D.

我认为C利用了文中第2句，per liter这个概念

原文最后一句话说橄榄油中含的游离酸的比例（含量）是油酸酸度的精确测量。实际意思就是游离酸的浓度可以精确的反映其酸度，即两者相等。

1＋2 只能推出未提炼橄榄油的游离油酸不等同于其酸性， 但不能推出未提炼橄榄油的游离油酸是大于其酸性还是小于。如果是小于，那可能是其他物质中和了游离酸的酸性呢。所以不能推出还有其他酸

这题偶想了半天，选了C，但是是看了lawyer-1对A的解释，觉得蛮有道理。不过偶目前还是坚持在C上是考虑到这个因素，请大家评判一下。

段落里说每立升unrefined live oil里含的free oleic acid越少，油的质量越高。free oleic acid在油里的比例是准确衡量oil's acidity的标准，那么C答案中说一个unrefiend olive oil和其它几种intermediate在一起，那它的质量也会intermediate。根据段落中给得条件，如果free oleic acid的比例发生变化了，那它的质量也会变化。这个结论可以成立。

BTW，偶觉得作inference question是要去prove。 In other words, you have to assume that the information in the passage is true and find the answer that is a true statement.
