（I）说1这种情形下，the FACT is beside the point，因为如果食品生吃，the FACT与irradiation支持者的论点无关，也就是说此情形下Cooking和Irradiation破坏VB1相同的事实并不能支持他们的论点；

（II）而2这种情形下，the FACT is misleading，因为Irradiation 和 Cooking 的破坏VB1的作用是幂数增加的（即（1-x%)^n，类似于利息），而FACT则仅是Cooking only和Irradiation only的比较。Irradiation支持者举出FACT来支持他们的论点时，忽略选项E这个事实，所以misleading。

我觉得 in this respect 应该指的是 lower the nutritional value of many foods 吧？vitamin b1只是一个example. 那这样的话楼上的这些推论就有些问题了。

因为besides the point 后面说的是一个泛泛的事实:much irradiated food，而不是单单就是否减少vitamin b而论述，我认为or else misleading后面说得也不应该只包含vitamin b的论述。

本来对这道题一直想不通。现在看了这么多讨论，思路也越来越清晰，坚定支持E。理由就不细说了，我只是个简单的想法，就是支持者说幅射与煮相比对B的破坏性是一样的，或不会比煮更大。E明确指出对于需要煮的食物而言，两者对B的破坏效果是叠加的，无法分辨谁大谁小，但总量肯定比单个破坏更大，因此幅射不可取，支持者在误导。C只是说明两种方式的不同用途，没有提及对B的破坏，所以无关。真得感谢楼上这么多N人，让我形成一个比较能说服自己的思路。供参考。

又看一遍，再次折服！！！这个在我一战时已经被我收录在手写notes，word文档，还有msn space里

虽然我第一选择也是E，不过比起anyname把作者的逻辑思路拆分的这么清楚，自己明显功力不足。

常常可以明白别人想说什么，但是不去思考他为什么这样表达。这就是差距所在吧。。。

佩服！偶只是模模糊糊地选择了E，看了Godiex的解释才深感透彻。

Godiex的解释很符合北美的逻辑教学思路，可以用来破ETS的陷阱，呵呵。

C is the best answer. To do a fill-in question, first we need to know what's being asked and, thus, the scope of the question.

The scope of the question about "irradication is no worse in this respect than cooking". Only answer C, but not answer E, can weaken "this fact"?

Answer C,if true, indicates these irradiation and cooking are not comparable in terms their attributions to nutrition loss. Answer E has nothing to do with what's being asked--"irradication is no worse in this respect than cooking".

虽然有anyname的解释， 可是我还是觉得是C..
而且大家那么多双眼睛怎么没有看出anyname的4种选择中的第一中明显是错误的。。。

原文much irratdiated food is eaten raw... 所以 是说已经irradicated...怎么能说beside the point是 No Irradiation ＋ No Cooking (=eaten raw)????
