第二段：

第三个：现在MA的文化被第三个形式的dissent间接的支持着，第三个形式是多元文化，多元文化抨击了高等文化对课程的蛮横权利，同时宣传一种思想，即我们必须要学习代表性的东西，因为我们过分强调了什么是例外。不过，多元文化实际上肯定了MA，通过让我们回到文化这个idea中本身的紧张之中。
社会批评家，科学的护卫者，多元文化者错误的坚持MA的文化是一个简单的为了操纵我们的设备。然而，MA的文化是为了记录地平线上聚集的意识形态乌云。对阿诺德来说，完美只是一个背景，在这个背景下，我们可以对我们的实际情况形成一个公正的形象，就像我们可以想象出更美的日落和听不到的旋律一样。
