我也选了D，但是C 应该是正确答案。因为题目要求选的是assumption，D更像是why 岛上的比陆地上的矮。

我一开始也错了。

用取反后削弱法做。D是说，TI上有nutrients to help flowers to grow higher。但是结果花在TI上还是矮了，那么就是环境的因素影响了。加强。不对。
                 C是说，mainland的环境变了，使上面的花长得高了。那么就可以理解，是mainland的花高了，不是TI的花矮了才导致两者差了40cm。TI花没变，所以环境美影响它。
