请教诸位前辈和大侠一个关于今年Essay的问题

题目如下： "Team Fuqua" is a frequently used term when discussing the Duke MBA program. Great teams have great leaders with great ideas and great team play. Thus, "Team Fuqua" means much more than teamwork. In fact, it builds directly from the core values of Fuqua, which are collaboration, innovation, and leadership. Please describe what you would bring to build on these core values and make Team Fuqua great.

想知道在写这篇文章的时候是只要突出自己的经历、特长和个性中对于学校有贡献的地方（就象回答一般问题“What you can bring and contribute to our school's program"这样）呢，还是说一定要围绕着collaboration, innovation, and leadership这三项来写。

感觉好象应该是后者，但我觉得写的时候可以灵活一点吧，有没有什么建议呢？谢谢！

商学院最看重的申请者的品质就是Leadership and teamwork. 你最好能突出自己在这两方面的特长，题目问的就是关于Team Fuqua，所以你如果太过灵活，只是简单的copy paste写给其他学校的essay恐怕会显得文不对题，没有针对性，此乃大忌！

I think you can put those two themes together in your essay, i.e., how you can bring your experiences about "collaboration, innovation and leadership" into Duke..

I would look at the entire set of essay questions and from that perspective, try to see what is being asking. B-school essays usually surround 3 topics: Your past experience, your future goals (why MBA), and what you can contribute to the school. These topics can be presented in many different forms as well as be mixed and matched.

Judging from the topic alone, I would say it is a mix between asking for your experience and what you can bring to the school. Try to look into your past experience and see what things showed your teamwork skills, innovative thinking, and leadership potential. Bring it even one step further and talk about why your skills, thinking, and potential are unique, and thus can contribute to the school in a special way. You will have to do a lot of digging to get that.

I think this is a really good essay topic, we didn't have it last year. Good luck!

At my first school visit to Duke, I was once thinking that I was traveling in a forest. Actually, Duke is much beautiful than what the pics could express, and in Duhram, there are lots fun places to go if one has enough energy. I love the city and the community very much.

By the way, how about the fall in Chicago?

I am just kidding. Kind of disappointed of the States. So inconvenient. Need to drive 30 mintues to buy a bike or have hair cut. Going to Chicago downtown is just like going to "西单" from the rural Beijing "回龙观".  有点"一觉回到解放前"的感觉。

I would love to go, but two quiz + one case assignment + one presentation all in next week really scare me off. Hopefully it won't scare off those prospective students in this forum. Plus, I have had many Halloween parties already in last 5 years.

求助：Deadline马上就要到了，可是还有一个推荐人没在线提交，他说要求字数太多了，他费尽力气还是填不满，网页又经常打不开，问我是否能改成非在线提交，即寄hardcopy过去。但我想如果送DHL，也要2天时间，送到也过了Deadline了。

请问各位有没有什么应急的办法？Duke的deadline是那种很死的呢还是推荐信晚一两天交也不要紧（不会变成下一轮）？还有网上提交的最少字数大概是多少？

没听说推荐信还有字数限制的啊？不可能吧？我想你最好还是跟你的推荐人沟通清楚。

实在不行你就取消掉网上递交的方式，让他给你hardcopy，然后跟你的其他材料比如成绩单啊什么的一起寄过去就行了。
