The fact, however, is cruel, because so far, human beings have nor possessed enough capacity to put an end to these problems.


Pretty frankly, the environmental issues will not be resolved thoroughly in the short term. The reasons are twofold. For one thing, people are not capable enough to completely tackle the environmental issues, based on the current science and technology. The number of automobiles, for example, has soared dramatically over the past decades that resulting in the global warming. And some of the supplement  remain conceptual almost to the point of fantasy, solar-powered cars and hybrid electric vehicles, for example. So only if these technologies improve, people can effectively stem the tendency of global warming. On the other hand, there is no doubt that environmental protection calls for a great deal of capital , which mainly comes from the support of government. Ironically, countries that need money for environmental issues are still under the poverty line, and their goal lies in the development of economy, instead of the preservation of environment. Therefore,  it is quite unrealistic to coerce these nations to offer the stringent budget to deal with the environmental deterioration. According to this point, I maintain that within our lifetime, it is virtually impossible to resolve these complex problems.


Poverty is another issue that we should not ignore. In the current world, especially in some destitute nations, millions of people are still struggling for not being starvation, which seems inconceivable in some other wealthy nations. People there could not afford to the most basic stuff, let alone education and entertainment. Simultaneously, the poverty issues could directly lead to high crime rate, which exerts negative effect on the social stability. In fact, these social problems are extremely difficult to eradicate, for the reason that they are triggered by various factors, such as political issues, religious and racial conflicts, and even the natural disasters. Such factors could make poverty or social issues hard to solve and let people to take a long time to find a feasible solution for these intricate problems.


Admittedly, we human beings have tried our utmost to confront to many crucial problems, and indeed, solved some of them, for instance, our doctors and chemists have found many effective medicines or methods to eliminate illness that saved millions of lives. However, such problem involved with so many elements seems, in some degree, unsolvable in our generation.


From what has been discussed above, we can draw the conclusion that so optimistic are those who deem that the most important problem will be solved in our lifetime that they may fail to take into account the fact that human beings are not ready to solve Gordian knot both utterly and perfectly, at least in the current generation.
