【越障2-16】
7:52,今天专门练理解力

1. Normal companies would get in trouble if its boss gets involved into any schandal. But News Corp is no normal company.
(1)NC is the last mogul existing.(guess the word mogul means monopoly?) There used to be other moguls dominating the media world, such as R in london, XX in california(?), holiwood, XX, disney. (2)But since the internet prospered, they cannot compete this new technology which makes the traditional media industry less popular.
(3)And yet those has long been replaced - or outshined - by the building of News Corp, a highly competitive multimedia company developed from a small unimportant newspaper press, run by Murdoch.
2. M builded his N.C. into a multimedia empire:
He bought FOX and Myspace (which has sadly been replaced by fb) and even Dow Jones (which was also a bad call for it has been dragged a lot down by the finantial crisis).
3. Something about his family and company. Many details about his son mentioned. (his son was suppressed by M's success.)
4. Talked about whether should M be retired to contain the bussiness of his company. Though angry people cannot get rid of N.C (as much as they want to), N.C. still need to make some changes. - M should step back from the boss seat and only remain the chairman of the company (after all he's still the founder of the company). Otherwise N.C. might become the LAST mogul. |
