Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? People should sometimes do things that they do not enjoy doing. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

Currently, many people have said that they should sometimes do things that they do not want to do or at least do not enjoy doing, this is a common phenomenon in today's society, from my perspective, this phenomenon is normal and reasonable because the competition is more and more serious, and also due to some misconception on people's minds.

People always judge a person's deed on the mutual value of the whole society. Imagine that one is a baby child, he always do whatever he desires to do, and no parents blame he for his misbehaves such as tearing the newspapers or overturning the milk, he is so lucky to be a child. However, this is not the case with the adult, because in the adult world, there is precisely strict criteria to a person's deed, when someone do things, he will surely think of surrounding people's opinions, when he perceive that it could gain good judgments or even appraisal, he may then get started on this business. So if the things he enjoys so much can provide him not a good reputation or evaluation, he will stop doing it initially, for example, I enjoy watching TV at home, but watching TV will certainly waste my time for preparing TOEFL examination, and when this happens, I will lose my opportunity to go abroad for study, people will consider me a loser or a bad student, so I have to give up this "bad "habit to concentrate on the study.

Another reason for people not to enjoy things is that the fierce competition we face in this 21 century.Enormous development in technologies and rapid renovation of the knowledge, plus the baby boom several years ago, all contribute to the competition we should deal with, if we don't catch up with this change, we may throw ourselves into an embarrassing condition, eventually, we have to give up many hobbies we liked very much in the past and go to the battlefield to fight for survive. Take my father for example, even he is retired from his position, he still trades in the stock market, he tells me that he don't like to work after the retirement, instead, he enjoys to go to play cards with his friends and go to vacation someday, but the truth is, in order to earn money to buy a house which is more and more expensive nowadays in our country, he has to be a shareholder.

Conclusively, not everyone have enough fortune to do the things he or she like the most, we ordinary people should always do the things we don't enjoy for different purposes, especially adapting to the social value or for struggling with the life.

Currently, in our society with more quickly developing, our modern people face and handle all kinds of things and issues that bore and frustrate us. Sometimes I am put into dilemma situation, for instance, my boss require me to work overtime on the weekend, on the other hand, I already have planned to go hiking with my family on this weekend. What should I do? From my perspective, I should not refuse to work on the weekend, because working is on top position in my list of daily life. I can change my schedule of hiking with my family, yet, business will be lost if I do not work out immediately. In one words, I totally agree with the notion that people should do things even they do not enjoy doing them sometimes.    

 

In our daily working, we always meet the
                scenario that when we really do not like to do things of maybe too boring, we are requested to do them by our leader. If we refuse to do and can not have the reasonable cause just because we do not enjoy doing, we will lost our performance and reputation in boss’ or work mates’ eyes. It absolutely hurt our career success and development in the future. From this point of view, we should do things even we do not enjoy because this is working not personal life. From my experience, in my team, one time, one workmate was assigned a task that seems not importance in our whole project. He ultimately deny doing that, and told leader that he believe that he do not feel enjoy in the process, because he thought this task was too easy. We could not find an appropriate person do work on the task. We delay our project ultimately and
                negatively impact the whole team performance. In my eye, my workmate not only show his low performance, but give me a nonprofessional model. In dealing of working, we should not do things or choose task in the base of our interest, rather think everything from the status of whole group.   

 

In personal life, there are many thing that we should do even we do not enjoy; else, we may ruin the relationships of friends or relatives. For instance, a good friend of mine invites me to attend an important party to him. I should take part in the party even it conflicts with my other personal schedules. If I refuse him, maybe I hurt our friendship relation. 

 

In summary, most of times, we should not do things according our interests. We will consider many factors into accounts. Sometimes when we can not gain to enjoy doing, we also should do if they are crucial to us or our group.

As we all know, the mass media today is marching at an unprecedented speed,including the television, newspapers, magazines,etc.Most of the media reflect lots of the personal lives of famous people such as public figures or celebrities,given two reasons below:

Firstly,the emerge of the images of famous people is a consequences of the taste of the public, evey ordinary people has a inclination to pursuit other person's private life with a curiosity as a hman being, especially, people want to know the daily life or even secret events happen to a celebrity just to satisfy their curiosities, or at least to entertain themsleves after a long day's work For example, I myself has even been a zealot  for the film star, Audrey, Hepburn,She seems so gorgeous to me and so beautiful as she is, she acted in a variety of famous Hollywood movies, so that as a fan of her, I can't help collecting her news and the  information about her career, also I have seen all of her performances on the screen.As a matter of fact, you can see from my experience that people  always have interest in the life of the celebrities, whatever fields he or she is in. Finally, the media will make their  programs out of this trend so as to satisfy the appetite of people to gain their profits.

Secondly, since the famous people have some good characteristics and personality to be a famous one, they definitely can be immited by the mortals. Currently, many celebrities are invited to some kinds of talk shows to present their  experience and their private life to public volunteerily, to my perspective, it is a good sign,people don't have to seek the information anywhere just to watch TV programs can help them to get acquitance about this famous guy, there are some positive aspects of this kind of program, they lead us to think and care about the good personality and good deeds of the celebrities, such as the charity and donation the celebrities contribute to the poor people, then we are moved deeply by them and some of us certainly make our decisions after the celebrities to take part in the charity activities.

To sum up, one might say that the media may pay too much attention to the personal lives of famous people, I would say the truth is, the more the better, because where is needs, there is deeds.

Conclusively, not everyone have enough fortune to do the things he or she like the most, we ordinary people should always do the things we don't enjoy for different purposes, especially adapting to the social value or for struggling with the life.
