does anyone know how stanford defines international students?  by legal status?  i sent an email to the adcom already, but no answer, maybe it's because they're on break.

答：According to the class profile on their website, internationals includes all non-US citizens (including those with Green Card). I don't know whether they have a different definition internally.

What's your concern?

My concern is that does the adcom put the international applicants in one pool and the US citiznes in another.  i know a lot of colleges do that with admissions for undergrads.  or does the adcom put everyone in pool, so everyone is competing with each other for a spot in bschool.

Even if the Adcom does that (although they never admit it), is there anything you can do? Worry about the things you can change, not the things completely out of your control. Besides, I think your qulification is significantly more important than your nationality, on the flip side, you don't want to be part of the schools that don't value diversity anyway.

看了很多录取的情况，似乎做consultant的人录取比例很大，可惜我是IT的，不知道有没有可能录取，请各位大侠帮我看一下：

国内大学一般，GPA还没有算；澳大利亚读过一个IT的master,GPA 6.3/7.0 （奇怪的计算方法，应该相当于3.6吧？），不知道master的GPA有没有帮助；在国内一直从事IT行业的工作，目前在一家世界TOP Solution Provider公司做Support Consultant,在一个项目中也做过team leader，所以只有3年Technical Experience；GMAT 710 （Q48, V38),身为一个中国人，而且是理工背景，数学竟然只有48，本来以为不复习也能拿50的（相信很多人也真的是这样），对自己太高估了，太惭愧了，也很郁闷；Tofel还没考，打算边写essay，边考，不知道需要多少分。

总感觉招的人大部分偏向于有管理和商业背景经验，不知道像我这样的会不会考虑呢。

首先，我觉得你可以仔细阅读一下前边的一些帖子，也许对你现在面临的问题会有些启发。

其次，我觉得你这样的背景会被考虑。

第三，很多咨询背景的不代表别的背景就不可以。

最后，你自己觉得你自己够优秀吗，甭管你考了多少分坐过什么工作有没有管理经验？如果你觉得那就申请，如果不觉得就别申请。

说得太好了，不管可能性是多少，我还是会去争取的，问一下是想心里有个底。

人只有一次生命，不去尝试追求自己的梦想，来到这个世界的目的又是什么呢！

看了这里的讨论，很受鼓舞呀。我也要加油了。

打算明年申请，T还没考，准备中。

目前遇到一个很头疼的问题，我两次G的成绩分别是690/5.0,730/3.5。是不是第二次作文分数太低了？自我感觉第二次写作没有什么重大失误，和第一次发挥得差不多。有朋友劝我再考一次，可我实在不想考了，也不想让学校觉得我过于追求分数。

请牛牛指点，我可以通过新托福的写作成绩和essay的写作来弥补G写作的不足么？如果我也很想申请stanford。
