看了去年CD录取的汇总帖子，LZ应该还拿到一个Duke的Offer。  Duke排名要高出Austin很多呀，而且是私立学校，LZ 能谈一下为什么选择了UT Austin 吗？Thx。

1. For career, I am going to Oil industry, it is strong in Texas.

2. UT is 30K cheaper,and I get some scholarship.

3. Duke is top 10, UT is top 20. If Duke is top 5, I will go.

我觉得duke和UT还是有差别的。不过从ROI考虑，lz选择很合理。

It is hot in Austin. But it is air conditioned everywhere. So do not worry

People in Texas are nice. There is not any difficulty to understand their English.

不是看不起德州人，是觉得德州有点特别吧。

MBA is quite different from MPA. If you want to specialize in accounting, you can choose a specialty in MBA. However, management is not MPA.

By the way, in UT-Austin, MPA means Master of Professional Accounting, not Master of Public Administration.

It is partially correct.

There is no non-US cosigner loan in the first year. In the second year, you can get 15K USD non-cosigner loan from the CItibank. The admission is working to get second year students non-cosigner loan.

However, if you have 50K ready for first year, you have a good shape in financing. You might get a scholarship, and you can earn about 10K in intership. So even now I am not sure whether is my second year funding, I am not so worried.

Finally, the total cost of attending UT is 100K, less than the 120K or 130K in other schools.
