以下是引用phxmu在2006-11-22 12:23:00的发言:I will say each student is different. Two reasons that Chinese students may not get so many opportunities: 1. Language barrier. If you can really speak good English, this will not be a problem. However, more than half of Chinese students have language barrier. 2. More than half companies do not recruite International Students. There is nothing you can do with it. But all consulting, i-banking and most finance job recruite international students. Problem is in some marketing area. However, there are always sufficient companies you can apply to. In conclusion, it depends on individual. Thanks, Phxmu. I appreciated your quick answers. Here's something in my mind. Hope you could continue to giving me your insights when you have time. 1. Language barrier is always a topic for Chinese students in the job hunting. I don't quite understand how "good" in English will be considered non- (seems impossible) or less language barrier? My experience in the U.S. MNC is that most of my Chinese peers don't speak very good English, but they are doing very well in the company. One of them is a senior marketing manager, who graduated from a 200+ ranked MBA program. Personally, I think your English is not bad. (You hosted the Austin Ad. Q-A session last time on CD). Do you think your English will be a barrier for you in the job hunting? How's your English level compared to other students in the class (including American students)? 2. To clarify the meaning of "International students", do you mean those students who need a H1B sponsor or all the International students, including those with GC? Do you hint that the chance of getting a job in MKT area is really slim? It's really bad news for me, as I want to work in MKT area. Thanks again for your information! |
