关于托福成绩,看来芝加哥还是非常严格的。我原来的表达可能不准备。下面是我和芝加哥商学院Esther和我的邮件内容。 Dear Larry, Greetings from Chicago! It's great to hear that an alum is recommending the GSB to friends and colleagues. Thank you for getting in touch with me. Unfortunately, our TOEFL requirement is very strict and we cannot make exceptions. So please encourage your colleague to retake the TOEFL. Since your testament to his English proficiency is so high, I'm sure he will pass the test with no problems. Thank you!   lease let me know if you have any other questions! Sincerely, Esther K. Dear Esther, This is Larry, a Chicago alum from Beijing saying hi to you. Hope you are doing great! A good frind of mine, who is a partner from a local boutique consulting firm, is very keen on Chicago GSB and want to apply our MBA program. From my understanding of his profile, capabilities and GSB's program's unique strengths, I believe he is a good fit. The only problem with his application, according to his description, would be his TOEFL score. He told me that GSB requires a minimum score of 60 on each sectin of the paper based TOEFL, but his listening section is only 59. So he was not sure if the admissions committee could show a little flexibility on that matter as he was very good at communicating in English, a qualification that he would like to show in the interviews. Since I am not sure as to how rigid is that policy about TOEFL, I am writing to hear your opinion. If that policy is black-n-whitely executed, what would your suggestion be regarding his particular cases? Here's a very brief info about him. Male, 29, 730GMAT, and very strong work experience/accomplishments, good communicator, good leadership. Thanks for your times and I look forward to your reply! Best wishes, Larry
