我只记得代词优先指代句子的主语！这里主语是population

可以的吧...我觉得指代更重要的是根据意思来找指代对应的单词的，而不仅仅根据位置判断
A. probably 跟estimate意思重复
B. they无指代
C.答案
D\E.there be不能做后面surpass的主语，而且跟and前面的主谓结构也不太对称

我记得当时XDF上课的时候，说过，代词优先指代句子的主语，你后面觉得例子，他指代的的确不是主语（主语不是publisher，而是那个人名）。所以我觉得你后面说的那到题目it指代不是很清楚，有可能混淆，但是并不是说it只能指代主语，只是说优先指代主语！也就是说跟多时候可以根据逻辑意思改变所知对象~
