上个星期去参加学校admit weekend，见到数个30+ , 其实在美国申请的都是有master甚至有ph.d 的，年龄都小不了，如果出国前在国内还工作过，很容易就上30了。我所认识的这类top mba (M7各校都有)中，毕业去投行的大有人在。不过申请归申请，千万不要以为MBA能点石成金，心态要放好,提高自身水平才是关键。

when you are waitting for the official green card,  if you have received a A number from the homeland security, it means you are already permanent resident.  if not, you are still not permanent resident.

if you are permanent resident, you may apply any school in america with many benefit. also, you won't submit the higher international institution fee.

yes. After I140 got approved and I485 been submitted, I have the A number. I consulted with school immigrant officer, she told me I can use pending status to apply for and study in any school. If I got GA, I can use my EAD to work at school.

just like i said, if you have the A number, you are already permanent resident, but are waitting for the official card. so you are legal to study and work in USA.

if you still don't have the A number,  you definitely are not permanent resident,

you are welcome,

 it sounds good,  the school immigrant officer is correct, you are in pending status, but you are legal to work and study just as normal permanent resident.

I140多长时间能approve的，140是第一步么？那么I485以后又要等多少？什么时候有name check?

这个问题，我没有足够的数据，还真不好说。只能说我我见到multiple 在美国上了master，甚至phd，工作过，又去上top MBA的。有的人绿卡也有了，收入也不错，就是因为心里还有自己更想做的事情，所以还想再闯闯。
