Please do not mislead. Having an A number DOES NOT mean you are a PR.

If your  485 petition is employment-based, giving up your job while 485 is pending is risky.  CIS could turn down your 485 if they find out you don't have a job or a job offer in your hand because your GC is EMPLOYMENT-BASED.

If you are a dependent in the 485 application (e.g. a wife on her husband's 485 case), you will be fine. You can go back to school or do whatever you want.

好像很多州规定拿到绿卡以后要居住一年以上才能享受州内学费，B-School的收费标准不一样，州内州外都差不多的。

True. But Ph.D degree holds more possibilities to get approval. It all depnds on how you define yourself, and how to show you're qualified to file EB2.

This thread was wrote one year ago. I have not been CD for long time. I would like to report my current situation to help others on similar situation.

I got offer from NYU part time program and will attend in Spring, 2009. Here is my background.

GMAT 750

Graduate GPA 3.87

Under: don't know. different system.

WE: 12 yrs International business

Member of ISM or Qigong club, etc.

I was waitlisted for the application of Fall, 08. They might think I was old enough so they recommended me to EMBA.
