mba2007done, The reason I said America is a christian country is not to say that christians are much more morally righteous than non-christians, my point is that American moral standard is not vaguely defined(as you have said earlier), in fact it is very well defined and closely follows christian faith. Whether christians will follow them is entirely different discussion. Also, I am fully aware of the discriminations against chinese in the past, but all i'm saying is that america is very different than 50 years ago, when discrimination against minorities is common, and much different from 100 years ago. This country is built by immigrants, and the demographic of immigrants have changed drastically in the past 20 years. There has been trends in the mainstream against whites instead of the minorities(as evidenced in the Univeristy of Michigan case where more qualified whites were rejected), so saying the system works only for the whites is not accurate. I totally agree china is where we should put our bodies and souls in, but that shouldn't deny any of the facts about US society. |
