We all live with a clear conscience and know that I live by what I consider to be high ethical standards. As MBA students, may of us have never told a company that we would definitely go work for them, we only tell them that we are interested in their company, and would be excited to join them or have the opportunity to work for them. We wrote essays expressing our interest in each school, and how we will make a good candidate for that school, and would like to join them if accepted. So at least I, for one, can honestly, without a single shred of conceit, tell you that I have been honest with my recruiters and the schools to which I applied. So don't lecture us on ethics. I think 贝贝's point is valid, MBAs look for jobs and employers expect you to compare them against others, PhD advisors are professors who invest resources in you, and expect you to at least be honest and communicate your intentions with them on a timely basis.
