以下是引用doublejade在2003-9-19 12:11:00的发言: Sorry I am a bit confused here. You mean resume template for GSB students or applicants? We do have a resume template for all MBA and Ph.D students. But if you use that for application, I don't think that's a good idea to show your enthusiasm to GSB.:-)
Must the applicants each part of toefl be higher than 60, I saw it in its brochure, my listening part is lower than 60, I do not know whether I can get chance to bargain or take toefl again?

I don't know the policy on scores of TOEFL sections. If that's it, you'd better take it again. I don't think applicants to top business schools have any bargain power, even in the bear market.
Admitted international students can get full tuition and living expense loan with a co-signer. Or, $35,000 a year without co-signer, which covers all tuition.
First of all, I am wondering how AdCom views the career changer. Suppose I am an auditor from Big Five and my career goal is to become an I banker. It is very hard, especially for a Chinese during the economy depression? So AdCom would ding me due to this unrealistic career plan?
Secondly, if I change my career plan into a more realistic one in this year’s re-application, then do I have to specify this change in essays?
Thirdly, to which extend, the AdCom will refer to my first-time materials? Will they compare my resume between updated and former one line by line? Or they will only focus whether I have improved myself from last year’s weak areas?
Lastly, I will attend the GSB’s reception at BJ in a few days, I am wondering how to leave a good and deep impression on AdCom there? Any special questions to ask or an excellent opening talk to them?
1. I don't think your career goal transfering from auditing to IB is unrealistic. Please remember 70% MBA are career changers when they graduate. But you need to convince schools in which areas you have been well-prepared for this change and how could the school help you to acheive your goal.
2. If you do want to change the former one, just do it. I doubt they care it that much.
3. Your last year's materials will be sent together with the new one to every reader in admissions committee and two of first year students. That depends on individual preference.
4. Just be yourself! But more active. You'd better treat it a chance to know the school, not people in admissions committee.
1. True Chicago GSB is very proud of its strong faculty, both in academic research and teaching. The teaching quality at GSB ranks NO. 1 in the latest BW ranking.
2. We have one of the best finance programs in the world. But Chicago trys hard for above 10 years to lead in other areas. Marketing and Enterpreneurship are two of them. We have two innovative courses- one of them is new product development lab, another is new ventures lab- all very popular. Now still very few people discovered these merits of GSB and most recruiters come here to find Finance MBA.
3. Chicago's teaching method is based on economic analysis, which permeates into all Chicago's courses. The academic base decides that Chicago's teaching focus much on quatitative analysis, lecture and theories. Chicago is an opposite school to Harvard in case study because Finance job needs latest analytical theories.
4. The flexibility of curriculum is another merit of Chicago. We have only one required course- LEAD. Students can choose any courses in different levels, even Ph.D level. GSB is a school for those who knows their goal clearly.
5. Chicago's Office of Career Service is gorgeous. It ranks NO. 1 in BW rankings.
6. Students here are one of the smartest in US. But more introverted than MBAs at other top schools. Because most will work in IB, Investment Management and Finance in companies, these industries need that type of people.
