Firstly, say sorry to all people waiting for my answer. I had a very long week. Demanding courses, never finished assignments, and we have 5-6 recruiter presentations every day!
Petalfly,I can not see any difference between the first round and the second round. People at admissions office can always estimate applicant numbers for every round precisely! But you'd better not to apply in 3rd round.:-) I don't think there is any problems with your career goal but it's a bit strange that you plan to apply for another master degree just after you have gotten one. You might need to explain to people on this clearly.
Imcrazy, Chicago have a creative essay every year. And it changes! So, be creative! In my understanding, in this essay, you can show your passion, your personalities, or even your former experiences! It's cool! Stick to one thing that you die to do it or one thing that you want to bring some changes and the result would be different.
Greattaste1, I am trying to answer all your questions: 1. Shoule be about 15-20%. 2. Marketing guys do have advantages. Every business school trys to improve diversity as Chicago does. You know, all Finance people want to apply for GSB or Wharton, or Columbia. Marketing people always put Kellogg on the top of their lists, not GSB. But, GSB still needs Marketing people. 3. I don't know much about those professors. But we have an associate dean who is a famous marketing professor. Marketing courses? Most popular one is new product development lab. Students can get first hand experience in marketing research and new product development with a real company. 4. See answer 2. Almost the same. 80% GSB students want to do Finance. But there are still some companies coming here to recruit marketing people. 5. Don't know much about that. Maybe I will know when I take some marketing courses next quarter.
