P1. 先是提出R这个人的观点, 早期的社会的契约只是提供表面的公平.
P2, 解释P1的那个观点, 早期社会契约是怎样. 穷人, 和富人是怎样想的.  富人通过这样的表面上的契约保护自己“偷”来的财产.
P3.  R开始发展他的新的社会契约观点.  从来说 ,他认为人不应该把自己的权利让给一个人,而且应该把权利归于整个社会. R觉得这样的一个主权, 是大家的共同意志,  它有责任让新的社会契约合法化.
P4. 再举例说了R 的新社会契约跟以前的不一样的地方.  举例在财产的保护上, 有不一样的地方.

难点, 概念有点抽象, 陌生的词比较多:tantamount 同等的 subsistence自给自足的, 赖以活命的.
