Reputation waxed and waned between 1939 and 1989
      -at its height in the early 1950s
      -these made much of the influence , but they stressed, the extraordinary status of Americaan ceramics abroad,attributing to the influence of the exhibitions.
However, olmsted’s reputation had declined, she merited a mention
        -first, the history of ceramics was written in named subjects. These people were creative and artistic.
        -Olmsted was not a ceramicist; but a curator, organizer and facilitator. And she was not a self-promoter.
                -she was neither judge nor juror of the exhibitions, and nor are there represent her as a professional.
