伦敦商学院 LBS 2018届大陆背景MBA实习情况

先说明一下统计口径，什么叫大陆背景？就是在中国大陆（不包括港澳台）出生，并且至少在大陆上过中学。

伦敦商学院(LBS) 2018届，有大陆背景的MBA一共14人。除了暑假实习，大多数同学还利用LBS的弹性学制，在第二年做了off cycle的实习，体验不同行业的工作，为之后的就业方向开辟多个赛道。

感谢LZ的update. 版上很久没有LBS的详细讨论了。

在准备LBS的申请过程中，本人和小伙伴们都被之前这个帖子的一些言论所困惑。不知道LBS近几年的变化。希望LZ对表如下帖子的一些情况给一些更新和观点。尤其是career service, 持中国大陆护照的同学在就业方面的切实感受。等等。

你好楼主。想问下LBS 在fashion或者luxe 行业的就业和学校资源如何呢？ 我是想转行做这些行业的marketing。不知道LBS 在这方面有工作机会吗？ 担心LBS 太偏重finance 或者consulting 方向。谢谢！

Whether you can succesfully make a career change always depends on 1) the resrouces provided by the school, 2) your pre-MBA background, 3) your capability and 4) luck.

I can only speak about the first element, the resrouces provided by the school.
Location matters:
First thing first, London is undoubtedly one of the capitals of fashion and luxury in the world. You will have opportunities to get access to companies in luxusy sector here.
To expand beyond UK into EU, there are Italian Trek and Paris Treto  treks every year, focusing on luxury companies. You will also have the opportutniy to go on exchange to LBS' partner schools in EU, such as HEC, IE,ect. and further explore luxury sector there.

Popular among students:
For students, both Marketing Club and Retail & Luxury Club have over 4000 members, a similar size to Consulting Club, so I would say Marketing and Retail & Luxury are both quite popular in LBS.  Btw, Burberry is a corporate partner with China Club. Last year, we held a wine testing event at Burberry. It was really fun.

Academic resourses:
Although my own career path is not in marketing, I find our core marketing course so interesting that it makes me plan to take more marketing classes as electives. LBS MBA has a quite good portfolio of marketing electives, taught by really good professors, including Simona Botti (Brand Management) and Rajesh Chandy (Managing and Marketing Innovation), etc. I suggest you look the courses and profs up on the internet.

Hi. 非常详尽的信息！
还有个问题就是针对大陆的学生过去如果想在fashion 或者luxury 行业找到伦敦当地的工作机会大吗？会不会因为签证的问题找不到工作还要回国呢？ 因为我的CG 是想毕业之后先在伦敦或者欧洲大陆工作一段时间，不想立刻回国找工作。谢谢！

根据以往的例子，中国护照的毕业生留着欧洲或者英国是很多的。不过至于未来怎么样，这个谁都不好打包票，更何况目前退欧还是会有不确定性因素。但是有志者事竟成啊，要对自己有信心。学校的平台和资源好好利用，加上自身的努力，一定可以实现你的CG。举个例子，MBA2017就有一个中国学姐已经成功拿到了她如愿以偿的欧洲顶级F1赛车队的full time offer。
