I would say Academies let Kelley stand out among the top business schools in the U.S. Academies are an integral feature of the Kelley MBA program. They blend advanced coursework, sector-focused experiences, special projects, field trips, industry speakers, and direct involvement with the senior practitioners on their advisory boards. I chose the investment banking Academy. Kelley is not strong at investment banking. The investment banking academy help differentiate us from other candidates from other top business schools. During the academy trip to New York City in October, we visited five investment banks, including Bank of America, Citigroup and Bear Stearns. We invited alumni and professors to speak on such topics as IPO, M&A and LBO. This semester we studied five cases focused on the IPO, M&A, LBO and VC. The result is specialized, field-specific knowledge we can leverage to start a career in industries which can sometimes be challenging to enter. In conjunction with Graduate Career Services, our academy directors offer us career guidance, including doing mock interviews and networking with alumni. In a word, the Academies complement our major and minors and help us fulfill the Career Track we've chosen to pursue.
Hope my comments are helpful.
Go Hoosiers!
