Oh, I hope it will not be too late for me to hear the voice from Kelley.

I just submitted my application to Kelley and have caught the deadline Jan.15.

My interest is in corporate finance and hope to find an IB position after graduate. Kelley obviously is excellent in academy and repuation among top business schools. What I worry about is the location. Bloomington is not an important business city in US, however, the most important factor for financial student is the business environment of the city. I think it will be a drawback of Kelley, at least in my point. Can you share some of your experience or feeling in this aspect? How to overcome the problem. Or maybe it is because I do not know Bloomington well.

actually, i did not have any accurate number for you. but as i know, some of my classmates got the offer from the third round last year. but i think the competition this year is so different from last year, so try your best to apply earlier. good luck!!

speaking of the location, i think that is really important aspect you guys should consider. bloomington is just a small town, instead of finance center such as NY. so, i admit that this is a weakness of kelley. but a lot of world class companies also recruit on compus. for example, banc of america offered four intern positions in investment banking this year.

Kelley is a core school of Bank of America, so several students intern there every year. But generally speaking, Kelley is not strong in IB, so you have to work very hard to pursue this career. For IB located internationally such as Hong Kong, although we have some alumni there, it's not easy either. Because Hong Kong is also a top choice for students from top IB schools. In my opinion, it more depends on your personal capabilities.

I am not familar with this direction, but Kelley has an exclusive entreneurship center and it looks cool. There is a piece of news about the direction below. I hope it helps.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Kelley School of Business at Indiana University has earned another national honor for its entrepreneurship program. The graduate program was named the 2007 National Model MBA in Entrepreneurship by the U.S. Association of Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE).

The National Model MBA in Entrepreneurship Program is awarded to a university that develops an exemplary program in entrepreneurship that reflects innovation, quality, effectiveness, comprehensiveness, sustainability, transferability, depth of support and impact on a national or global level.

Chosen from among 31 programs, the Kelley School demonstrated the distinctiveness and depth of its entrepreneurial curriculum by emphasizing unique opportunities offered such as the Entrepreneurial Management Academy and the annual Velocity Conference. The conference underscores the primary role of entrepreneurship, technology and innovation in contemporary business environments to accelerate entrepreneurial careers.

The school also focused on its cross-campus initiatives with other IU programs, specifically the medical life sciences developments being created by physicians and researchers at the IU Medical School. Working together, MBA students and medical school faculty are establishing business viability of new medical technologies.

Accepting the award on behalf of the Kelley School was Donald F. Kuratko, the Jack M. Gill Chair of entrepreneurship and executive director of the Johnson Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

"This award is an exemplification of our phenomenal entrepreneurship team at the Kelley School of Business. This award acknowledges us as the nation's foremost model program in entrepreneurship," Kuratko said.

In addition, Kuratko was awarded the John E. Hughes Entrepreneurial Advocacy Award for his contributions to the field of entrepreneurship throughout his academic career. USASBE presents the advocacy award to noteworthy individuals who have exhibited exemplary leadership and sustained contributions to the support and advocacy of the entrepreneurship field. The awards were presented at the association's annual conference Saturday (Jan. 13) in Orlando, Fla.

Dan Smith, dean of the Kelley School, said, "Ultimately, the success of any program is due to its people. Over the last few years, we have made a number of important investments in the area of entrepreneurship. We believe that entrepreneurship can be a driving force that transforms lives, communities and societies. Being recognized as having the model MBA program in entrepreneurship is certainly a great honor and is the result of the commitment to excellence of our faculty, staff and students.

"I am particularly proud of Dr. Kuratko's individual recognition by his peers as it demonstrates the national visibility he has created for IU and the Kelley School," Smith added. "He provides tremendous leadership for our Johnson Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation."

A friend of mine currently is student in Kelley major in MIS. After his introduction on Kelley live, I am quite interested in Kelley now. So hope to learn more about it.

I am admitted by Kelley. But in the email, it doesn't mention scholarship. Does this mean I miss it? I'd like to know something about this. Usually, Kelley will give scholarship together with admission letter or separately? When will I notice whether I have it?

As I know, the email does not include such fellowship information, but if you do have it, you can find it in your package received later. So, do not worry about that. If you do not get any financial support, it is still possible to get some by writing to Tim.
