Hi all, Glad to see so many ppl interested in Sloan here. We apologize that sometimes there might not be real-time replies, but we will try to answer them asap. If there are more questions, please feel free to raise them up in this thread.
To 2F:
1. 10%+ will be fine. The reason why they have a word limit is to prevent applicants from having too much unnecessary content. As long as the content is concise and interesting for expressing your point, there is no problem w/ that. 2. Not only Sloan, I think every b school would like to see quantitative results on your resume, but not necessarily in your essays. Think about attributes you can put in essays instead.
3. The average age for class of 08 from China is around 29 indeed, and there is no one under 26 in class 07 or 08. There is one in HBS class 09 aged 24 though.
4. One of Sloan's strongest attributes is team work, so you are right. We are basically like a big family here, and it's really different from other schools from my personal view.
To 3F:
1. I think Xi can handle this part better for us. From what I know there are people from consulting, banking, consumer product, biomedical, logistics, finance, venture capital, international trading, etc.
2. I don't remember anyone getting the scholarship in class 07 and 08. Xi, please correct me if I am wrong here.
3. In terms of disciplines: consulting, entrepreneurship, supply chain, information technology. In terms of attributes: innovation, teamwork, entrepreneurial, leadership.
4. People in class 07 mainly go into industries like consulting, banking, high tech, etc.
To 5F:
1. Not applying to E&I won't be reasonable if you wanna start your business in the future.
2. Sloan and HBS have a cross-registration system. This actually benefits students in both schools from taking classes at each other's strongest areas. But I would suggest not to emphasize on this too heavily since after all you are appying for Sloan in its essays.
