your background is good. as I said in another reply. tell the admission committee, why you are special, why Sloan nee d you. Also, for your case, I think you need to explain why you want a MBA at the age of 40. if you can explain well, it might be a point that makes you special.

your backgound is good enough. TOFEL is not required. Just try your best.

essays and recommendations should reflect yourself as a whole. tell your own story which you believe will impress the admission committee. actually, you can find what kind of people MIT is looking for just from the essay topics. MIT likes poeple who have great ideas and can make the ideas happen.

Hi MITSLOAN:

I have read through this post and have my own questions for your comments:

When I planned to apply for sloan, I look at its general reputation and strong engineering background, location, etc.

Here is my package:

Education: University of Science and TEchnology of China, some top 5 uni in China

Graduation year: 2002

Degrees: BS & BE (dual)

GPA: 75/100 (for both)

GMAT: 710/5.0

Career path: 5 years so far in Top 2 local ERP solution providers, 1 year in mainland China, 4 years in Hong Kong. I define myself in business technology industry or IT industry. My function focus is marketing, from assistant level to current manager level, for Asia-Pac. For short, my accomplishment could be marketing China's top ERP solution provider to overseas.

My enquiries are: Is there any status or history indicating the same background applicants enrolled by MIT? say marketing for IT industry.

就你提供的背景而已关于言,申请已ＯＫ。是否有相同背景者,我没调查没有发言权。但就我的理解,WHAT（做什么）远没HOW重要。而且，做过的无法改变，怎么理解挖掘过往很大一方面在于你自己。借用LOTTO 的半句话“做好自己的homework”，you will get it.．

很高兴你浏览了以前的问答，其实“日光之下并无新事”，JUST DO IT！

Sloan only has only 2 rounds. and for each round, it admits almost half/half. so there might be a little advantage for first round, only if your package is well prepared. if not, second round is ok.

Each semester, there is one week long SIP(sloan innovation period), with many workshops on different topics in either leadership or research areas. people can bid for up to 3 credits each semester, totally 8 is required for graduation for 2 years.  example topics:  Leadership Styles and Values, introduction to Strategic Management.

IAP is in January, the whole month. people can do externship in companies. or you can do whatever you want. many people use this time to prepare for interviews.
