Dear MIT friends

I would like to apply MIT MBA program, but I don't know whether I am qualified to do so, could you please give me some suggestions:

Backgrouds:

GMAT: 660 (M50,V29)

TOEFL: N/A

Education:Master degree in France (Top 5 grand ecole)

Work experiece: 7 years; Age: 33(actually, i am 31,but there is a mistake in ID when I was enrolled by Chinese Universtiy....)

Position: Product line manager in a foreign company,

Language: French, English, Chinese

As i am very busy everyday, I have no time to retake my GMAT. Could you please tell me whether my GMAT is too low to apply MIT? Thanks for your feedback and I really appreciate your suggestions.

My suggestion would be: if you don't have any issue of concern that might hurt your application (ex. low GPA, gap between jobs, erc., you don't have to write the additional essay.

it's totally fine to choose an indirect supervisor for your recommendation. Usually people use clients and supervisors in other divisions for recommendation too.

For the background check, usually the school will cross check with your companies and your sources of recommnedation for information like length of working period, position, and other information.

Sloan is famous for entrepreneurship, but at the same time, entrepreneurship is not only about being an entrepreneur. More importantly, it is about having the spirit and leverage it in your work in the future. So I would say don't worry about it and apply for MIT.

In your case, I would say not reporting the TOEFL score may be more beneficial for you. After getting the interview, it will be the chance for you to perform!

Take me for example, I don't have any tech background before coming to MIT Sloan. So don't let your non-tech background hiner you from applying to MIT Sloan. In fact, lots of our classmates come from different academic backgrounds.

E&I Program is actually about entrepreneurship and innovation. You don't need a tech background for that either.
