As a result of pollution in cities, an increasing amount of urban dwellers leave from cities to villages to pursuit more suitable residences. In fact, villages have a lot of advantages: they are usually peaceful, close to nature, and, more importantly, spacious. Although there are many shortcomings for living in the cities, my family still has a lot of reasons to do so.
All of my family members will save time, if we live in the city. An important reason is that our daily activities happen around the city. My parents, for instance, are the common white collars. On weekdays, they drive to the downtown in our city at which their office buildings are located. Therefore, if our family live in village far away from their office, my parents have to get up extremely early in the morning, especially thinking of traffic congestion nowadays. As for me, living near the downtown area is also good news. I could go to the school just by bike and save a great amount of time to do my homework. Hence, to save the time consumed in traffic, city is a better place to take care of a family.
Medical condition could be another important reason to prevent my family from living in the countryside. There is no doubt that hospitals equipped with good doctors and devices are all located at city. Because of distance between city and countryside, patients may miss the optimal opportunity for treatment. Take one of my uncles for example. After retiring, he moved to countryside to live out his final years in peace. In a late evening, he suddenly felt headache and was sent to the nearest hospital in the countryside immediately. Unfortunately, even though the doctors of this hospital did not find any problems with him, he still passed away only on the second day in the hospital. As far as I am concerned, inferior medical condition in rural hospital should take responsible for his death. Therefore, since my parents are at an advanced age, good medical condition is essential for my family.
Education adds more importance to living in the city. Unquestionably, city possesses superior education recourses. With the development of urbanization, good fundamental education firstly thrives in cities. Then, because these schools could afford high salaries, they attract many good teachers to leave their hometown and to look for jobs in the cities. The good teachers in turns improve teaching quality further. Thus a beneficial cycle formed. Apart from classroom education, extracurricular activities are more various in cities due to advanced facilities, such as gyms, computer centers with high network speed and libraries. Therefore, my family inclines to live in the city in order to receive better education.
Owing to the reasons I mentioned above, I find it hard to part with my house in the city. Therefore, I believe that city is more suitable for taking care of a family.
