such variations是不重要的，重要的是manifold dimensions of mental experience。具体这个manifold dimensions of mental experience的意思，要通过原文的上下文理解。

这个句子，对我的难点是and the like as had放在一起，一下子就晕倒。

我想我现在的问题就像类似manifold dimensions of mental experience即使放在上下文中来理解我也理解不好到底是什么意思。还有就是杨鹏所说的抽象词的问题,我对于词义的理解太僵化了，基本上就是单词书上的意思。但是放在gmat文章中，翻译出的东东看了自己都想哭......
我该怎么办呢？？欢迎哥哥支招......

这道题对于我难在such ....as 之后的as had been demonstrated. 请问哪位大侠知道had been demonstrated 做什么成分么？是不是前面省略了that? 另外，the like 在这里是不是相当于诸如此类的解释？不过这用法对我来说真是少见。

我认为应该是such variations as those had been demonstrated in nerve cells.
the like是指相似的方面。
