作者的观点过于绝对 对于现在的现代的国家意识形态 人民福利是体现国家伟大的最重要的一点 在以前封建主义或者奴隶社会的时候 一个国家的强大往往体现在统治者 及其周围的艺术家和科学家的成就上 而且就现代社会而言统治者 艺术家和科学家也能帮助一个国家更伟大
一个伟大的国家要有各方面都强大的综合国力 而综合国力不进体现在统治者和少数社会精英的成就上 还必须体现在人民的福利 只有这样的国家 才有强大的向心力和凝聚力
然而在古代 统治阶级和人民不是现在这种对等的关系 而是类似于主仆关系那时一个强大的帝国未必是为人民谋福利的 大都体现在一个君主的政绩上 他们为人类创造了灿烂的文明
国家的意识形态从帝国转向民主体质 正体现了国家和社会对个体的关注 在现代意义上一个国家应该让人的个性和自由得到充分发展

   The author`s view is too absolute. It isthe quite significant point that the general welfare of its people for today`ssociety. However, the indicator of a great nation represented by theachievements of its rulers and artists or scientists around them when theprevious modern society. And that the achievement of artists and scientistsalso promote the state progress all the time in present national ideology.
   A great nation must be a nation which thewhole aspects, it is called comprehensive national power, are strong. Theindicator of the comprehensive national power is mean not by the achievementsof its rulers, artists, or scientists, but by the general welfare of itspeople. The Kind of nation will fill with cohesive force and will be unbeaten. Forinstance, the England beat Qing Dynasty(also it called China) in a short timeat 1840. Qing Dynasty was not seemed too vulnerable at that time. Why Englandcan win the war so quick? And even some Chinese people help the Britishsoldiers against the Chinese soldiers, it also makes the British soldier soastound and they puzzled ask why Chinese people help us rather than Chinesearmy. There are maybe some reasons that the leader lack of nerve and thegovernment always repress and exploit common people, then the public fill theyare less relative of the nation. It called :”the govern class is not care of thepublic, then the public show less national consciousness”.
   The relation between the state and thepublic is different from now. The government is equality with citizen and it servesto people while the government is upper on the public in the ancient. At that timea stronger empire may not make general welfare to its people but do for theirown ideal. Then the indicator of a great nation is represented by theachievements of the emperor and officials and scientists fellow him. And theyalso created a great deal of accomplishment for human civilization. Therefore, wealso cannot say that the great nation is little relative with the achievementof the its rulers, artists, or scientists.
