The stereotype is QJE, which publish a lot of papers written by people from Cambridge.

Seriously, I do not think QJE is that bad. Firstly they did not desk reject my paper. Secondly should they do not like it, they would desk reject it in hours, giving you opportunity to move on. This is much better than JPE which publishes very few paper with very long first response time. I also heard bad experience about RES.
Once I have another good paper, I'll probably try QJE first.
