Both of the lecturer and the writer discuss the issue about whether people read less literature books can affect the reading public. The author believes that there is a negative influence. The professor, on the contrary, considers that things are not what it looks like at the first thought.

First, the speaker claims that people is reading less literature books than they used to but not only literature books are intellectually stimulating. Science, history and other form of books have high quality, well-read and creative as well. Besides, they also can stimulate people's imagination. Accordingly, literature books cannot be assumed as good books in general. Therefore, this directly disproves its counterpart in the reading material.

Moreover, the lecturer declares that people spend less time with books does not mead the culture is declining. She further explains that there are also other culturally valuable materials such as music and movie that cannot be approached by reading. Spending time listening to a piece of beautiful song is not waste time and it also possesses a high culture level. Furthermore, culture now has changed, and its expression cannot be limited to only one form-reading books. In fact, other forms of culture other than books speak more directly to the contemporary concern. Accordingly, this is another places where experiences the contradicted theory.

At last, the professor asserts that readers should not be to blame for their less reading. It is the authors should take the responsibility. She insists that literature works are more difficult to understand in modern days. Even the people live in the past are not able to read as much as today's literature books as they used to. Consequently, the last point is rebutted.

To sum up, the professor clearly identifies the weaknesses in the passage and convincingly shows the the central argument in the passage, less literature reading produce negative to the reading public, is incorrect.

6月27日101009NA Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Compared with people who live in cities, people who live in rural areas can take better care of their families.

Cities are no wonder places centralized by advanced transportation systems, high technological hospitals and developed facilities. Compared with the situation in the rural areas, the huge distinction of convenience is clear. Therefore, with the assistance mentioned above, people who live in the cities can take better care of their families than people live in the rural areas.

To begin with, there are advanced hospital with the top class surgeons and medical facilities that are easily approached in every corner of a city. Thanks to this, people do not have to worry about the tiny diseases like cold and fever; also the severe diseases can be cured in no time. All of these means a sick boy's working mother can go to work without anxious, an old man's wife can sit in peace beside her husband and a young couple can plan for their honey moon even one of them is still in bed. The superior medical conditions in cities ensure people’s easy and safe life accompanied by the care from family members. No worry about the long distance between home and hospital will occur. No attention is needed to be paid to the worst situation. In all, people live in the cities can take care of their families better.

Another equally important point is that communication is a lot more convenient in the cities by which the emergency can be found immediately and receive the help at the best time. In rural place, when people feel headache they may regard this as a lack of sleep because of the insufficient medical knowledge and far away clinics that people do not want to bother to visit, and continue their daily routine. However, it is possible to be the result of heart disease and the outcome can be extremely dangerous. On the contrary, in cities, sick people are able to receive the immediate help. By simply a call, an ambulance will show at your house. Annually body examine is common. Furthermore, if people are suffer from mental problems the best psychologist is right in your hand. If a young child is alone at home he can call his mother and talk to her to feel warm. Therefore, people in the cities can take better care of their families indeed.

Admittedly, some people may argue that people live in cities are always too busy to spare time with their families, needless to talk about taking care. In fact, take care does not mean spending time with family although it is important. They can call the family every now and then. They can invite doctors to check their uncomfortable. They can appear at the emergency no matter when and where it is. How can the good care not appear?

In conclusion, with all kinds of advanced facilities in cities, people's care can be proved and the situation to live in a happy and health family can be approached.

Both of the lecturer and the writer explore the issue about whether the authenticity of a painting portrayed of Jane Austen, a famous English writer. The writer insists that it is exactly the painting of Austen. The professor, on the contrary, states that the evidences are not convincing and questionable, and they can hardly prove the truth of the painting.

First, the speaker claims that the portrait used as the illustration of a letter is permitted by Austen's family 70 years after her death. The fact is that on one even have seen her directly and so the family cannot know for certain that the painting is Jane Austen herself. Therefore, this directly disproves its counterpart in the reading material.

Moreover, the lecturer declares that the resemblances of the painting and the sketch from Cassandra can be explained to be a painting of Jane Austen's relative's portrait. He adds that Austen's family is a large family. During the period of the painting, there were a lot of teenage girls as her cousins or children can be the subject of the painting. Besides, the professions point out the teenage girl is actually Marian, a distance nice of Jane. Accordingly, this is another point where experiences the contradicted theory.

At last, the professor asserts that the painting style of Humphrey is not adequate to prove the fact. He further points out that the carven, the cloth used to paint on, was not sold in London until Jane Austen was 27, which is absolutely not a teenage girl as painted on the carven. Consequently, the last point is rebutted.

To sum up, the professor clearly identifies the weaknesses in the passage and convincingly shows that the central argument in the passage, the painting is the portrait of Jane Austen, is incorrect.

6月28日100306 NA Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? In order to solve the problems of the present and the future, people should review the past.

The past to people is what water is to fish. All of the three parts, past, present and future, are mutually inexclusive to each other. As an integral in people’s life, there exists certain connection among them. People can hear the words from the old, cheerful or sad, they are looking back into the past to some extent every day. The saying like what if I did not do that is not rare. Arrogant people do nothing but picture their wonderful future in vain. For the destination to solve problems, personally, I do not deny that it should be based on the reviewing of the past.

To begin with past means experience no matter it is success or failure. It is where the precious of life buried. By reviewing the past, people are enabled to find the resemblances between problems people are facing and those has encountered. With the flowing of time, memory comes to be vague. Only by digging into the past, can people discover the useful information to solve problems. If it was still a mystery in the past, this time even greater courage and care is needed. If it was solved in the past, people can figure out the question at present in no time by referring to the past experience. Besides, it can be called as study, merely studying from people themselves past, the achievement is great. Not only can people identify the current problem, but also the same mistakes will not occur again. In this way, it is of great needed to review the past.

In addition, people can find themselves when they are lost on their way to success. There are always myriad of dangerous and attractive things on people's way to their goal. When we are tired or terrified or want to give up, it is time for us to look back into the past. To find the courage at the beginning and feel the strong determination we used to have. Again, filled with confidence and braveness as well as the propulsion of dream from the very start, people are ready to see the problems directly in their eyes and to fight with them until they are beaten. Indeed, people have to review to set up again in solving all the problems.

Admittedly, some people may against my point by saying that people necessitate to imagine the future. What they need is the eager for better life in the future to push them to work and to answer the problems. However, I insist that the imagination is barely dream like a giant building without strong foundation. The outcome is nothing but collapse. It is needless to stress the importance in viewing the past.

In conclusion, in order to find courage, confidence and essential information to face the current questions, people need to look back into the past. For it is also an approach for a brighter future.

Both of the writer and the lecturer explore the issue about private fossil collectors. The author insists that only negative influence to public and scientists can be found. The lecturer, on the contrary, believes that the writer is exaggerating the situation. In all, the positive side of private collector overweighs its negative side.

First, the professor claims that private collector can bring greater exposure to the fossils rather thatn the statement in the reading, public cannot see them unless they are donated to the museum. She adds that while selling, the commercial market enable low level public buyers, public schools, to buy the fossils and display them to the public. Therefore, this directly disproves its counterpart in the reading material.

Moreover, the speaker declares that scientists will not lose chance to get access to fossils instead there approach are assured. Collectors necessitate scientists to identify the fossils such as test for detail information, stresses the professor. In this way, no fossil can go into private collector without the examination of scientists. Also no important information can be missed out by the communities. Accordingly, this is another place where experiences the contradicted theory.

At last, the professor asserts that the damages of fossils cannot be considered in the way raised in the passage. Sometimes there are damages to the fossils. However, it is better to let more fossils be found without location and other detail information or let a great number of them buried underground? Apparently, the former one is the best solution. Consequently, the last point is rebutted.

To sum up, the professor clearly identifies the weakness in the passage and clearly shows that the central argument in the reading, private collectors only produce negative influence to the public, is incorrect.
