1 time 33
Premise: Lobster eaten by human contracts diseases because their water contaminated by sewage.
Premise: A proposal that reroute the local sewage many kilometers offshore.
Conclusion: The proposal is useless because hardly any lobster lives long enough to be harmed by sewage.
Inference: But the lobsters eaten by human contracts to diseases.

2 time 45
Premise: the ownership of cars in East German increased 40 percent.
Premise: the number of people killed by car accidents increased 300 percent.
Resolve the paradox of disproportionate increase in traffic fatalities.
Inference: The post-alcohol driving caused the traffic fatalities.
D those people who had driven little caused the traffic fatalities.

3 time 41
Premise: New regulation causes high cost
Premise: high cost causes high price.
Conclusion High price causes low exports.
Weaken: High cost will not cause high price because of national subsidy or compensation, or high price will not causes low exports.
A: another source stimulates the exports.

4 time 42
Premise: The price of new process is greater than that of old process.
Inference: The stimulus doesn’t mention anything about the maintenance fees or the effective time of those two processes.
B: Load-bearing capacity is a good reason.

Premise: Drugs are sold affordable in the country which drugs can’t be patented.
Premise: Drugs are sold in premium price because the patents shield manufactures from competitors.
Conclusion: the future access of new drugs can be improved if the process of gaining patents is to be abolished.
Weaken: If there is no patent protect, there will be no new drugs.
D: no profit, no research fees.

(D) Drivers who had driven little or not at all before 1989 accounted for much of the increase in the total distance traveled by cars.

E) Because the new coating has a viscosity similar to that of a traditional top coat, aircraft manufacturers can apply it using the same equipment as is used for a traditional top coat.

Bg: Lobsters and other crustaceans eaten by humans are
more likely to contract gill diseases when sewage
contaminates their water.---?reference
pre: because hardly any lobsters live long
enough to be harmed by those diseases.
con: the proposal is pointless,
(weaken the argument)
Pre:the lobsters although could live long enough to be harmed by those diseases, when they rerout to the far away from the water, the clean water could help the lobster to be health(思路不对不对不对!!!!!)
思路
1.    but what about the humans who eat the lobsters that live in the sewage-contaminated environment? The author fails to address this point.
2.    The conclusion of the argument is near the end: “the proposal is pointless,” and this is based on the
premise that “hardly any lobsters live long enough to be harmed by those diseases.”
Ans:C-?E
A-support: The argument is based on the sewage contamination of the harbor
B-no impact
D-irrelevant
E-irrelevant
C: The issue is not breeding frequency but longevity. So, while we are pleased to hear that lobsters in sewage-contaminated waters breed frequently, this fact does not impact an argument based on the age and disease contraction.
41(28'7)
pre:the number of East German residents killed each year as car occupants in traffic accidents increased by about 300 percent.
con:Bg:In the two years ,the number of cars owned by residents of East Germany and the total distance traveled by cars in East Germany both increased by about 40 percent
(resolve the paradox)
PRE:the number of car owns had increasd was because the native economy had developed well. The ability of consume has improved.Another is after unification, the German who live in East went to WEST has a long distance ,and thus they need the car.
Ans
A-irrelevant
B-no impact
C-irrelevant
E-no impact
Bg:Regulations recently imposed by the government of Risemia call for unprecedented reductions in the amounts of pollutants manufacturers are allowed to discharge into the environment.
Pre: It will take costly new pollution control equipment requiring expensive maintenance to comply with these regulations.
Resultant price increases will lead to the loss of some export markets
con:annual exports of Risemian manufactured goods will in the future occur at diminished levels.
(weaken the argument)
Although the cost and the export market will be increased and lost ,the regulation is good for environment, and the customer will approve it .Besids ,in the current ,the cost is high ,and has a risk of lossing the export market, but the manufacturer will supervise the manager to transform the way of making ,and the government wil providesustentation fund
and in the future the manu.will gain the profits.
Ans:A
B-SUPPORT
C-no impact/support
D-not the issue
E-irrelevant
Bgaint on a new airliner is usually applied in two stages--a coat of primer, and then a top coat
pre:A new process instead uses two layers of the same newly developed coating, with each layer of the new coating having the same thickness and weight as a traditional top coat.
con: Using the new process instead of the old process increases the price of a new aircraft considerably.
Pre:The new is endurable than old
Ans:B
A--irrelevant
C-no impact
D--not enough
E-irrelevant

Lobsters and other crustaceans eaten by humans are
more likely to contract gill diseases when sewage
contaminates their water. Under a recent proposal,
millions of gallons of local sewage each day would
be rerouted many kilometers offshore. Although this
would substantially reduce the amount of sewage in
the harbor where lobsters are caught, the proposal is
pointless, because hardly any lobsters live long
enough to be harmed by those diseases.
(A) Contaminants in the harbor other than sewage
are equally harmful to lobsters.无关
(B) Lobsters, like other crustaceans, live longer in
the open ocean than in industrial harbors.无关
(C) Lobsters breed as readily in sewagecontaminated
water as in unpolluted water.无关
(D) Gill diseases cannot be detected by examining
the surface of the lobster.无关
(E) Humans often become ill as a result of eating
lobsters with gill diseases.正解
