千万别被误导了，文章整体在讲一个商业的现象，某种出发点，没有收到应该有的效果，然后举了一个例子，某行业。。。

如果选C，就从细节上过分强调那个行业的案例了。忽略了文章的整体结构，所以要选A

同意。全文讲了两层意思：firms do not necessarily become more innovative as they increase their patenting 和the average quality
     of their firms’ patents declined。如果把C带入the connection between patenting and innovation in the semiconductor industry during the period from 1982 to 1992，并没有完全把握全文中心意思。全文的第一句话是关键：The system of patent-granting, which confers temporary monopolies for
         the exploitation of new technologies, was originally established as an incentive to the pursuit of risky new ideas.这不正是强烈对比The system of patent-granting的期望和实际的结果吗? 所以是yielded unanticipated results。

A 的那个study主题是 半导体工业赚专利的办法产生了意想不到的后果。

这个study和文章中那些study就是两码事

本文说了两方面新发现:1.不是专利越多就越innovative 2.Moreover,质量还下降了.

这两个都是unexpected results对应A.

而B:只说了innovative,片面.

另外:做了几天GWD发现,很多主题题是由TS改写.而GWD中的TS多为转折词,however,yet等后面的总结性语言。本文中就是Yet studies of the most patent-conscious business of all—the semiconductor industry—suggest that firms do not necessarily become more innovative as they increase their patenting activity. .A也是由这个改写而来

本来选C的 看了讨论贴后再读了遍全文，unanticipated results似乎比connection好！

A是对的：

预料是设定patent的政府预料的：革新应该增加，但是并没有增加

C只讲了the connection between patenting and innovation in the semiconductor industry

而Aa study suggesting that the semiconductor industry’s approach to patenting during the period from 1982 to 1992 yielded unanticipated results

重点就放在后面的“yield results”以这个半导体行业为例说明了整个工业中patent和革新的关系，只是这里很含蓄，results=patent relationship所以不容易发现

而C：只说了一个行业，too specific!!

通篇文章都是说patent的目标是鼓励创新，但是实际上没有起到与其的作用，所以A的答案是迷糊大家的，请仔细看A:

A: 半导体工业对待patent的方法产生了没有想到的结果；

正确的应该是：patenting产生了没有想到的结果。

所以A是绝对错误的。

C正确，它阐述了patent和创新的关系。
