对41题

one quarter the amount没有问题,问题在于the number这个特指，使用特指时，一般是指代前面出现过的东东，而这里前面唯一出现的一个数字是4000，因而这个the number就不得不指代4000，这就有逻辑问题了。

强悍！这样D绝对错了（不是有人不同意one-quarter of the amount才对）

看了这么多讨论 41题终于可以定论了 答案是C 我开始也选D 可后来想了想 THE NUMBER指代不清 它逻辑上不是指句中SOME 4000 EXISED IN THE .... 而是指TODAY 中暗含的存在的数字

41题，我想大家的争论就在ACD里面了

首先，我要说fewer和less是不一样的，few一定是few的比较级，而less呢，是一个独立的单词，而且是副词，朗文的第一个解释就是；not so much：We go to Paris less fruquently now.如果是比较的话，这里连个最基本的比较对象都没有，太荒谬了吧，所以less只是一个表程度的副词。当然也可以表示litle的比较级，但是这个题里面不是。

二，number是不能用多、少来形容的，只能跟大小great large small，基本上就是这三个词

所以，C里面，fewer drive－ins 和amount比较，这是不对的，至少得在最后价格of XXX.

D里面，number犯了我说的第二点里面的错误，即不能用less来形容，要给为smaller。
