I think LZ is right. His advice is worth of pondering. I had been living in US for over 10 years. The first couple of years were like nightmare. My English was not very good at the time. I was looked down upon by Americans. There are lots of Americans who are not well educated but can speak fluent English-native speakers. That makes them think they are better than you even you have higher diploma or you are more skilled in certain area, for example, Chinese are famous for good math problem solving skills.
To survive in America, a country consists of intellectuals from all over the world. a country consists of individuals who think that their backgrounds are superior to others. you need to speak well and write well. |
