D单复数指代出问题，the Holstein cow 和them不搭。其他选项都不好，要不就是主动不合理要不就是指代不合理，所以只有E最好。不必太纠结是什么时，最优原则就好了

看了句子后不忙看选项，花个15秒感觉一下。看答案的时候直接把那些有硬性错误，就是那些不能有的错误的选项直接杀了，然后一般就剩两个相对的，相对的语法上错误可能不是那么明显，很多是从句子意思和逻辑下手的

associated with 不是结合在一起的意思吗？我感觉应该用have，还是在这里 “associated with both Homo erectus and Homo sapiens ”是做定语修饰“A one-million-year-old skull bearing traits”的？

白勇 p175 54题：

(B) Problems of managing water and resources
(C) Problems in the management of water and other resources
(D) Problems of water and other resource management

首先，resource包含water,所以A,B错，要用other resource. 然后，E中,including water 就近修饰problems，错误。
剩下C和D  
《白勇》对D的解释如下：and可以连接water和other resource共同修饰management，也可能连接problems of water 和other resource management；因此连词的连接对象产生争议。

它这么解释的话，就和上面的那道题矛盾了，希望牛牛帮解释下：
Problems of water and other resourcemanagement
as much as 20 percent of the leaf and small-stem material
这两个结构难道有区别么？？我是真看不出来~~~~如果没区别为什么又出现不同的解释呢？？？这样以来关于and连接对象的问题就没个标准了。。。。。。我原来一直以为，and首先是就近连接，然后根据逻辑意思判断，如果没问题的话就对了，而不会出现上题D中解释的连接对象产生争议的问题！！！！
