I think it depends on school by school. if no news/interview yet, probably means either u r out or in the second or third round. Let's wait for another week, i think the result will be out.

someone from Princetonreview Grad Forum said he received a ding from Columbia Finance (phd) on 2/17

update on finance phd admission data:


someone from business week forum said he called Columbia finance and econ phd program. he was told anyone who has not heard from them up to now are almost surely out.


Wharton has already sent out the offers for finance phd.

回家发现有一个电话留言，说是被xxx大学拒了。悲伤沮丧之余又把那个message听了几遍，觉得不对劲，然后trace了一下，发现是朋友的恶作剧。结果发生了什么事你们自己去猜。


如果嫌活得腻了就去如此骚扰那些正在等offer的哥们吧。记得要先买保险。

below is from businessweek forum, by AGT11


"To sum up, offers are being made a few at a time. Let's say Wharton wants to take in 6 ppl this year. First they send out    4-6 offers to their most-wanted applicants in mid-Feb, and hopefully    3 accepts the offer. Then they send out 3 more offers around March 15, asking for a reply deadline of April 15. Then if there any seat left they will send out 2 more offers again to make up an incoming class of 6 people. "


Obviously we arn't the ones on the top of their list, so just pray we can hear back from them sometime in March.

For those who have applied to business phd:


Chicago finance will send out decisions by March 1


NYU will send out decisions by the first week of March


Wharton finance will send out decisions by the first two weeks of March. Wharton stat phd has already send out offers, wharton finance has already sent out partial offers


Stanford will send out decisions by the first week and early second week of march


Columbia will send out most decision on the first week of march. Rejection letters has been sent out since last week on a rolling biasis


Emory, Boston College, and Vanderbilt finance have conducted interviews on potential applicants (or will do so within this week)
