Hi guys,

Thanks for taking questions!

One question from me - do you think it actually matters whether the application is made before the 1st round deadline or the 2nd?

Any input/advice would be much appreciated. Thanks for the help.

education:

2.Master of Science,Florida State University,全奖,Computer Science,GPA4.0

career:

standard test:

others:

传说只有四大+MBA=IB?

Don't want to see any irrelevant argument here.

To jasoncaoyi:

1.Academic is part of the application package so high gpa surely can help you stand out. However just remember that mba is more of a career training so I'd say probably career achievement matters more.
2. I think "quality" is more important than "quantity". If you can demonstrate your career ambition, achievements and strengths, your understanding of leadership and teamwork, how you become who you are today, etc, you can definitely apply with 4yrs exp.
3. I'd say if you could score higher then I encourage you to re-take gmat. Personally I feel the more recent the parameter is the more relevant it is to your application. You finished school years ago and just got an average gmat - what do you expect school to evaluate? However, the gmat ranges from 650 to 800 at wharton so if you are confident with the whole application package you can just go ahead.
4. As I mentioned before we have many many students with tech background. And ib is generally friendly to career swithchers.

To tanglele:

Personally I feel no much difference. But if you are ready don't need to wait.

To benk:

The way of teaching and the course content are very relevent to real business. For example, during statistics class our math professor discussed with us how to best leverage your investments in different portfolio to get tangible return. I took a trading class in pre-term taught by an incredible professor that even the noises of trading floor were simulated in classroom. The consultant in charge of s&t at school's career management office had been a currency trader for 17 years and has shared with us a lot how to hit the point during recruitment. Examples are too many to list. In general Wharton is a very down to earth school and the school definitely knows how to equip you for future success in a real business world.

Thanks a lot. We are so lucky to have you here. Just one more question, in my goal essay, I can barely accommodate my contents in 1000 words and have to reach almost 1300. Will that cause any problem? What is the general threshold in your experience? Thanks again.

Keep it brief. Many people say as long as you don't exceed more than 10% it should be fine, but I don't agree. I think you should not exceed more than 50 words.
