MS这个帖子已经成为某两位的吵架贴了......言归正传,感觉LSU更好.首先,LSU的accounting比Tennessee的Fiance要更强一些,而且finance的就业跟acc根本没法比.

把研究型大学放在成百上千的teaching college里面做比对,恐怕混淆视听的人是你吧!

Seems like you know little about the education system in the US.

The finest institutions of higher learning are almost always liberal arts colleges, like Harvard College, Yale College, Middlebury, Bowdoin, Williams, Swarthmore...these schools are big names in America across ages and enjoy much much more prestige than any other so-called research institute. In fact, research-intensive is in no way a reflection of the reputation of the school nor the quality of its faculty and student body.

What you've mentioned as "teaching college" are most likely to be the massive community schools offering adult eduation or serving as a stepping stone for high school grads.

I am sorry to know this meaningless dispute. In my opinions, judy does not know much about job hunting for assistant professors. The first priority is published papers. A graduate from 3 or 4 tier universities can also get his or her work published in top tier journal and then find a job at a top tier university. It is possible. Of course, the chance is low. However, a person can do this. Moreover, the supply and demand for accounting is imbalance. Accounting graduates have higher chance to work at higher ranking universities.

UTK good choice, then u CAN possibly go to LSU for a finance professor job after your degree.

but if u go to LSU for accy phd, u cannot get the professorship at UTK.
